Sleek and contemporary design
Wonderfully relaxed, friendly and stylish – Casa Mathilda offers the perfect home away from home for your stay in Barcelona. Set across the first floor of an elegant residential building in the fun Eixample district, this spot is cool, cosy and incredibly comfortable.
The 14 rooms are each individually designed and, in line with the homely feel, the staff here are welcoming and unfailingly hospitable. Whilst reception isn't manned 24 hours a day, when owner Assumpta or her staff are there, be sure to call upon them for their great local recommendations on what to do, see and eat.
Set in the Eixample district with its wonderful architecture, fashion boutiques and buzzing cafés and bars – this is a great part of the city in which to base yourself. What’s more, you’re well placed to explore, with many of the city’s sights within walking distance and the lovely Gràcia neighbourhood a short walk north.
A simple breakfast is served and can be enjoyed out on the terrace in warmer months. There is no bar or restaurant on site but tea and coffee facilities are available and there are mini-fridges in each of the rooms

The 14 rooms offer a simple and contemporary décor with plenty of warm, muted tones and cool lighting fixtures. Bathrooms are compact but well designed, decked out with pretty tiling and boasting luxe smellies and bathrobes. It’s worth noting that the cheapest rooms face into an internal atrium, which can be a little noisy if you prefer to sleep with your windows open, but with such reasonable rates we’d recommend upgrading to bag yourself a street view or direct access out onto the terrace.
