Puri Madawi

Run by two Austrian brothers, Puri Madawi is a fun and friendly boutique hotel packed full of Balinese furniture and locally made art. Hidden away in the Petitenget area, the 16-room hotel is apart from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak, while within easy reach of the city’s restaurants, bars and clubs. Whether you’re a party-goer or downtime-seeker, you’ll find what you’re after here. Not only is the party town of Kuta only a 20-minute drive away, but you’re also only a stroll from the beautiful Batu Belig Beach ‒ bliss.

Breakfast is served in the mornings and is included in most room rates (see rates below). After a long day on the beach, the hotel restaurant awaits with delicious Indonesian specialities and rather potent cocktails.

Styled with classic Balinese décor, the 16 bungalows are comfortable and full of character. The bathrooms are pretty special too, some offering open-air showers surrounded by tropical plants. While all are lovely, we are particularly fond of the Suites, which are more spacious and set around an inviting pool. They also have an upstairs bedroom, while a charming lounging area sits below.

Dip into the refreshing swimming pool, or slather on the sunscreen and head to the nearby beach – it's worth noting that the gate to the beach is closed at 9pm. If you’re after something more adventurous, the charming staff will happily help organise horse riding, diving, river rafting, fishing, surfing and cookery classes.
