Just minutes from the city centre’s Syntagma Square and the impressive Hellenic Parliament building housed in the Old Royal Palace, MET34 is a contemporary oasis in the middle of Athens.
A team of professional and knowledgeable staff serve the 7 bedroom hotel, ensuring that guests enjoy a truly personal experience. The striking monochrome décor juxtaposes the hotel’s classical villa setting, making for an alternatively luxurious stay in the heart of this ancient city.
Whilst there is no restaurant on site a continental breakfast is delivered to your room in a hamper and includes freshly squeezed orange juice, cereal, cheese, ham, croissants and of course Greek yoghurt. Breakfast can be enjoyed in bed at the hour of your choosing.
Each room has a modern kitchenette with filter coffee, espresso and tea provided. Being located in the heart of the buzzing restaurant district means a huge choice of eateries are just outside the hotel’s door.
While there are just 7 rooms and suites, each one is surprisingly spacious and free WiFi is provided. Large double-glazed windows with blackout blinds mute the liveliness of the busy Mitropoleos street below.
The suites are ideal for families, with an extra room and two sofas in the living space that transform into beds for the little ones.
If you’re in town for business, some rooms offer extended living space perfect to log on to work or hold private meetings.
The hotel’s central location means numerous historic sites are only minutes away. The exciting shopping and restaurant streets Mitropoleos and Ermou are right outside, and the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens is just around the corner.
In the shadow of the illustrious Acropolis, the hotel’s location in the upmarket Plaka district has a distinctly village feeling. Narrow cobblestone streets host a multitude of tiny boutiques, cafés and family-run tavernas that buzz late into the night. The nearby neighbourhood of Anafiotika hosts many traditional whitewashed abodes, transporting visitors to a distinctly island vibe.
Slightly further afield, lose yourself among the countless monuments of the Monastiraki neighbourhood, or on a balmy evening catch a screening at the al fresco Cine Paris.
