Periscope is a small but well-formed design hotel in Athens, offering a central and stylish base for exploring the city sights.
The style here is sleek and minimalist – think polished wooden floors, contemporary furnishings and a mostly monochrome colour scheme. The hotel also has the added bonus of being in a wealthier, quieter part of Athens, but still only a few blocks away from must-see hotspots such as Kolonaki Square. Service is excellent too as the staff are both efficient and friendly. A great, well-located option for a stay in Athens.
A simple breakfast is served each morning in the Lounge Bar. As with many city hotels there is no restaurant on site but you are spoilt for choice nearby.
There’s definitely something to be said here for the Penthouse Suite which comes with your very own open-air, glass fronted jacuzzi with views out across the city. That being said, it isn’t a total necessity, as all rooms are very comfy and well decorated with fresh lines, hi-tech amenities and crisp, modern bathrooms. The Standard Rooms are a little on the compact side – ideal for a night or two but it's probably worth upgrading if you're planning to be here longer.
As Athens is full of culture and history, it begs to be explored. The beautiful National Garden is a 15-minute walk; keep heading that way and in another 20-minutes you’ll find yourself at the world-famous Acropolis.
