With only five beautifully decorated rooms in its belt, Stout & Co is a charmingly personable boutique B&B. In true Amsterdam spirit, the hotel building was formerly a brewery, which has been revamped with modern décor, quirky art by young designers and the odd original feature from bygone days. Never fear though - there’s another brewery down the road for you to make use of.
Stout & Co’s is owned and run by the lovely Stefan and Steven, who are more than happy to share their insiders tips on what to do in this eclectic city. You’re right in the midst of it too - just a stroll away from the key sights.
A simple breakfast is served in the mornings, providing some excellent fuel for a busy day’s sightseeing. While there is no restaurant at the hotel, there are plenty of excellent and innovative eateries, cafés and pancake houses (always a plus) nearby.
There are only five perfectly formed rooms at Stout & Co, all of which have been carefully designed with much attention to detail. Décor is modern and simple, with plenty of white and sporadic pops of colour. Bathrooms are crisp, with the added treat of luxe toiletries.
Stout & Co is in a prime position for city-exploring; located in the Eastern Docklands area, it’s just a jaunt away from the NEMO Science Museum and plenty of arty shops and cafés. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are also within easy reach either on foot or by tram.
