Rooms keyboard_arrow_down
The 27 rooms are spread throughout the village with no two the same, but all traditionally designed and perfectly in keeping with medieval setting. The only exception is the modernised bathrooms, many of which are open-plan and some boasting gorgeous free-standing tubs.
It's worth noting that due to the age of the building, windows tend to come up small making some rooms quite dark, but with the soft lighting and candlelight it's all rather atmospheric.

Why so chic?
Why travel experts chose this hotelTrue Mountain BeautySanto Stefano di SessanioIn the hills of the Gran Sasso National ParkChic Treats
Only when you book with ChicSet across a more or less perfectly preserved medieval town in the Italian Apennines, Sextantio Albergo Diffuso is all cobble stones, narrow alleyways and so much history that it’s as though you’ve actually stepped back in time and woken up in the middle ages.
If it's mod-cons and slick design you're after, this is probably not the place for you but for those looking for an authentic and historic experience, you've come to the right place. The team behind the hotel worked hard to preserve the integrity of the village, seeking out original building materials, textiles and handicrafts from the Abruzzo mountains. As such, you can expect a truly immersive experience.
It's worth noting that due to the cobbled streets and a fair few stairs, this property is not suited to those with limited mobility.
Sextantio Albergo Diffuso is available to hire for weddings and events.
Dining
The restaurant 'Locanda sotto gli Archi' serves a menu entirely focused on recreating medieval recipes using native, local produce which is served on handcrafted ceramics (must be booked in advance).
Head to 'Il Cantinone' with its huge stone fireplace down in the wine cellar for drinks or a lighter snack.
Picnics are also available to order if you are planning on heading out for the day.

Activities
The hotel is located in the fortified medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, high in the hills of the Gran Sasso National Park, meaning that there is some lovely exploring to be done nearby with hiking trails, horseriding tours, truffle hunting and local wine tasting.
Back at the hotel, massages are available along with cookery, bread making, weaving and soap making classes.
Many of the handicrafts featured across the village are available to buy in the property's shop: “La Bottega dell’Artigianato”.
