Hotel Flora earned its reputation and loyal clientele through personal service by the Romanelli family and by word of mouth. This charming & traditional Venetian hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility for guests who are after personal service provided by true professionals. Hotel Flora is filled with 18th and 19th century Venetian pieces adding to its authenticity and charm. It is no coincidence that every magazine article that mentions Hotel Flora also mentions the Romanelli family and their art of effortless hospitality.
A short distance from Hotel Flora are the Teatro la Fenice, Ca' Contarini del Bovolo with its famous staircase, Campo Santo Stefano and the Gallerie dell'Accademia, the modern art at Palazzo Grassi and Palazzo Franchetti. From Campo Santa Maria del Giglio you can cross the Grand Canal with the gondola-traghetto and in a few short minutes you will be enjoying the masterpieces of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Breakfast is served from 7am and in the Summer months can be enjoyed in the private courtyard garden. Vinicio, the charming bar man takes care of you during the day and early evening. Hotel Flora has an excellent wine list and a selection of teas and herbal infusions. On cooler days the bar provides a cosy place to come back to after a day out.
The room sizes at Hotel Flora do vary from standard in size, and more ordinary to the charming and recommended period-style rooms overlooking the garden. Some of the en-suite bathrooms are on the small side which is typical in Venetian hotels and some could do with a face-lift, however after experiencing the charm of this hotel and the service of the owners & their staff we can clearly understand why Hotel Flora has grown such a loyal clientele. Service and the experience is after all what a stay should be all about!
