About this Chic Retreat
Charming House DD724 is just a short walk away from the Accademia Gallery, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Chiesa della Salute (Church of Good Health), as well as the picturesque Punta della Dogana (Customs Point). There are no signs for the hotel (due to disagreements with neighbours) so do ask (or take a map) rather than walking backwards and forwards between Peggy Guggenheim and the Accademia Bridge! The team of staff here is small ensuring guests continuity of service during their stay.
Accommodation
Boutique hotels in Venice - at least on St Marks - are amongst the most expensive in Europe and due to building restrictions some hotel rooms can be small. However, owner of Charming House DD724, Chiara Bocchini and designer Mauro Mazzolini, have brought together experience from previous hotels in Milan and Rome to create this contemporary and atmospheric hotel. The soft pallette of beige and chocolate brown is interrupted with the occasional splash of colour in the form of paintings and pictures from modern Italian artists and photographers and lamps from lighting designers. Chiara has overseen the decoration and interiors of every room herself ensuring that every attention to detail has been seen to including WIFI, satellite TV (crystal screen). The muted colours continue throughout the luxurious bathrooms which are complete with luxury toiletries for men and for women.
Activities
'Lines are geometric, tones run the gamut of brown. The only splashes of colour are provided by the armchairs, covered in Frigerio chequerboard fabrics; and the works by contemporary Italian artists on the walls. The tiny breakfast room calls for a little marmalade-and-croissant choreography, especially if everyone gets hungry at the same time. Fellow guests are likely to be visiting curators at the Peggy Guggenheim museum, which is just along the canal.' Conde Nast Traveller

Guests have breakfast in the cosy breakfast room which is lined with a collection of books on travel and art - breakfast can be cooked for each guest individually.

Rates at Charming House DD724 include a small breakfast, taxes, service and VAT. High season rates apply all week ends. A supplement of € 30.00 will be applied during the main Venice events (e.g. Carnival, the Venice Arts Festival).
