Villa Fontelunga is the stunning end result of the the Vision of 3 well travelled friends, 2 English and 1Italian, to create a relaxing chic retreat in the heart of Tuscany. With a unique blend of style and informality guests at Villa Fontelunga are immediately able to establish their own holiday rhythm, when finding the time for a holiday, is so precious. Comfortably and cleverly marrying modern design and ideals with all that is traditional in Italy the trio have given this archetypal Italian Villa a new life for the New Millennium. Standing elegantly on the edge of the Val di Chiana, the garden of Italy, Villa Fontelunga has expansive views towards the city of Cortona and its mountains beyond. Surrounded by its own olive groves, local sunflower, wheat and fruit farms it is impossible not to feel the heart of Tuscany beating.

Accommodation

The 9 guestrooms of the villa are classically proportioned and individually styled, with an eclectic mix of modern and antique furnishings. The accommodation offers air conditioning, a stereo CD player, telephone and modern en-suite showers and bathrooms. Each room offers double aspect views over the surrounding gardens and countryside, with the junior suite in the cottage having French doors onto its own terrace.

Activities

With Florence, Siena, Orvieto and Assisi within a one-hour drive, it's all culturally at your fingertips. Restaurants are never hard to find in Italy and the region has its fair share with all the seasonal specialities, wild boar, porcini mushroom, pecorino cheese and the local beans etc. For those in need of retail therapy the city of Arezzo, an affluent hidden Tuscan gem, has plenty to offer and the factory outlets for Prada, Dolce & Gabanna, Gucci , Fendi, Armani and Sergio Rossi, beckon close by.

Dining

Of course no Italian management would be whole without their 'mama', Ines, whose culinary art and colourful manner are synonymous with Villa Fontelunga.

Rates

All rates are for the room, per night, and include taxes and a continental breakfast. The minimum stay is normally three nights. Lunches can be provided daily for guests staying at the Villa, and dinner twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Prices are available on request. Check out time is any time before 12:00 noon and check in time is any time after 14:00 hours. Children under 14 are not allowed unless the whole villa is booke
