About this Chic Retreat

New to the boutique hotel scene in Tuscany, Poggio Piglia has been created to blend in with the beauty of its surroundings. Just 4km from the Umbrian border, this area is just as green and scenic as its neighbour. Seven years in the making Poggio Piglia has been quite a project for the passionate owners and the result is a feast for the eyes; stunning interiors, exquisite attention to detail and exceptional hospitality.

Accommodation

Choose between the standard (35sqm) or deluxe rooms (45sqm) or one of the Poggio Piglia suites.  All of the 9 rooms feature traditional beamed ceilings and modern parquet flooring and very spacious bathrooms.  The en-suite bathrooms in the standard rooms have glass encased showers with modern fixtures and fittings against a soft backdrop of natural stone walls.  The deluxe rooms and suites enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the sumptuous bathrooms have Whirlpool baths as well as the individual showers.  Each of the rooms have been cleverly furnished with traditional furniture and modern design pieces and all are air-conditioned and come with flat screen TVs with satellite channels.  Rooms are available to sleep up to 4 people.

Activities

Poggio Piglia is only 5 minutes by car from the spa of Terme Sensoriali at Chianciano Terme.  The most romantic spot can be found by the stunning infinity pool.  Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and the green hills of Tuscany, it is heated throughout the year and so can enjoyed even during the slightly cooler months.  There are many beautiful places of interest and cultural spots nearby. Did you know that a cathedral can be found in every Tuscan city? The Chiusi Cathedral is the oldest in Tuscany, dating from the 6th-century and is a must-see during your stay. Of course a visit to Tuscany wouldn't be the same with a wine tasting or two and between Florence and Siena lie the most famous Italian wine producers including the Chianti, Montalcino and Montepulciano producers. The Rosso di Montalcino is one of Lulu's favourites and this pretty town is well worth a visit.  Bikes can be rented nearby and there are some wonderful walks in the large park and surrounding paths and woodland.

Dining

Guests can enjoy snacks and cocktails at the bar which was designed by graphic and motion artist Barbara Spano and the restaurant offers light lunch with traditional Tuscan dishes.   Salvatore Console is head of the kitchen at Poggio Piglia.  With his international experience he blends creativity and passion and is inspired by both Tuscan and Italian flavours. Local products are the focus including cured meats, local cheeses, and vegetables and aromatic herbs grown in the kitchen garden.

72 hours prior to arrival (before 16.00) without penalties.  At the time of booking confirmation, the hotel will pre-authorize the credit card given as guarantee for the amount due in case of no-show or late cancellation. In case of late cancellation, modification or no show, the amount of the first night will be debited on the credit card given as guarantee.
