About this Chic Retreat
The Hunter Polo Club is a small luxury lodge set in an impressive Renaissance-style castle overlooking the Sexten Dolomites, a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site in Italian South Tyrol. Usually open only to the members of this prestigious club, Chic Retreats are offering a unique chance to stay at this beautiful estate. Interiors maintain the grandeur of this polo and hunting club which has hosted many a celebrity and aristocrat over the years. Hunting trophies from the owners' time in Africa, intricate wall hangings and fine tapestries create a traditional feel throughout this chic retreat, available room by room or the entire club can be booked, perfect for a polo weekend with friends. Close to 12 great ski resorts, this stylish club is also great for a winter holiday and this is the only polo resort in the alps where you can play snow polo. The small team of friendly staff offer personalised and attentive service and will help organise your stay be it golf, hiking or simply relaxing that are top of your list. Individual rooms are available throughout the summer from June to September as well as exclusive rental, while in winter, the property is available on an exclusive rental only basis.
Accommodation
There are 3 suites & 7 double rooms at Hunter Polo Club, each individually decorated with an array of fine tapestries, hunting trophies, antique wood furnishings, oil paintings, chandeliers and fine drapery. Rooms can be reserved depending on your needs with 2 suites that can connect with a double, a further suite on the second floor, 7 doubles of various sizes which share 3 bathrooms plus a nursery which sleeps 3. There are 3 suites & 1 double which have private en-suite bathrooms, and all bathrooms have over-size baths for a relaxing post-skiing soak with Farmacia di Dobbiaco bath products & towels provided. In addition, each room has a luxurious king-size bed, WiFi and TVs with DVD players. Book a divine suite for 2, come with family and friends, or book the entire property which has 3 connecting living rooms, a bar and elegant dining room. Exclusive rental can sleep 6 guests including the first floor Pink & Red suites and a connected double room with access to the 2nd floor. Enjoy the high-life in this magnificent castle hideaway.
Activities
The Hunter Polo Club is the ideal place for equestrians, and the perfect place for polo games with a 90 m x 40 m arena with different levels and types of chukkas according to your expertise. The only club in the alps where you can play snow polo, you can enjoy this exciting sport year round. However, there is something for everyone in the diverse landscape of South Tyrol, with golf courses set against the fertile hills and plenty of walking & hiking paths. In season, there are 12 ski resorts covering all levels of difficult and skis-on connections to the Sella massif with over 500 km of piste. Back at the club, guests enjoy over 60-acres of private estate. There is also a sauna to relax your muscles after a day of riding and guests can make use of the estate's tennis courts.
Dining
Enjoy a continental breakfast buffet and English breakfast to order to start off the day. For lunch, you can enjoy pasta dishes, salads and cheeses, with delicious cake & biscuits for tea and a hearty supper of vegetable soup, a main meat or fish dish and sumptuous desserts, all accompanied by some well-chosen wines.
Rates
Rates at Hunter Polo Club are per room per night based on 2 people sharing or for the entire property as indicated. Rates include breakfast, light lunch, afternoon teak and dinner and all local taxes. Exclusive use rates are quoted per night for the whole club house based on 6 guests sharing 2 Master Suites ( pink and red ) and 1 double. Rates during the winter season are based on 7 nights exclusive hire of The Hunter Polo Club for 6 guests. The club house can accomodate up to 6 in 2 Master suites (pink and red ) and 1 connected double room. Extra rooms may also be available. You can also reserve individuals suites and rooms during the winter season for 3, 4 or 7 nights if the entire Club house has not been hired exclusively six weeks prior to your arrival date. Cancellation policy
Bookings must be confirmed with a 30% non-refundable deposit with the balance payable no later than 42 days prior to arrival. Cancellations received more than 2 days priort to arrival will be refunded all monies minus the 30% deposit. For cancellations made between 42 and 21 days prior to arrival, a 75% cancellation fee will be retained. For cancellations within 21 days of arrival, late arrival, early departures or no shows, no refund will be given.
