About this Chic Retreat
Castel Fragsburg is the smallest luxury hotel in the Dolomites, South Tyrol. This historic retreat was used as a hunting lodge in the 17th-century and is a nature lovers' paradise, overlooking the Merano Valley and acres of orchards and vineyards. Hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking, helicopter tours, paragliding…however you want to explore, the rolling countryside is there to discover. Enjoy the vistas from the heated outdoor pool, take a walk in the 10,000 sqm gardens and relax at the end of the day with a treatment in the Alpine Healthcare Spa. For dinner, you will be spoilt for choice, with 2 restaurants including the Michelin-starred Gourmet Restaurant with high-quality honest, fresh food by head chef Luis Haller. All this alongside great service and a gorgeous traditional style and you have the perfect Tyrolean hideaway for a romantic holiday, walking weekend, family break or wedding.
Accommodation
There are 23 rooms & suites at Castel Fragsburg, from singles and doubles to spacious suites, all with private balconies or terraces offering dramatic views of the gorgeous natural surroundings. Rooms are in a contemporary alpine style, with select local antiques and each rooms is individually decorated with traditional Tyrolean-style beds fitted with top-quality bed linens, TVs and mini-bars. The luxurious red marble en-suite bathrooms have either a shower, bath or both and towels, bathrobes and slippers are all provided.
Activities
Whether walking & hiking, mountain-biking or golf is your thing, the unspoilt Dolomites have it all, with over 100 km of Nordic walking trails, 300 km of mountain-biking tracks and a great many golf courses to choose from, including Golf Club Passeier where guests receive a 25% discount on green fees. Tennis courts are available in Merano, a 15 minute drive away. The 10,000 sqm estate has gorgeous gardens, orchards and a large heated outdoor pool offering far-reaching views over the valley. Further refreshment and relaxation can be found in the Alpine Healthcare Spa which offers holistic therapies, facials, bath treatments, peels, massages and their signature apple treatments, and guests can unwind in the Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam grotto, lounge and sun cottage.
Dining
Castel Fragsburg offers a restaurant for house-guests and the Gourmet Restaurant, both of them in charge of the Michelin-starred Chef Luis Haller and his staff .
The extensive breakfast buffet has a wonderful array of traditional and local produce, homemade wherever possible with hot dishes to order.
Rates
Rates at Castel Fragsburg are per room per night based on 2 people sharingand include the Fragsburg buffet breakfast with homemade bread and jam, the 5-course gourmet dinner prepared by the starred Chef Luis Haller and his team, use of the Alpine Healthcare Spa, use of the heated outdoor pool, taxes and fees. Single occupancy is available on request with a supplement of EUR 50 per night for double de luxe rooms and EUR 75 in suite de luxe. Rates for children sharing their parents room: up to 3 years EUR 20 per day, 3-7 years 50% reduction, 7-10 years 30% reduction, 10-13 years 25% reduction (reduction valid until birthday). Hotel opens on April 15th, 2011 and will close again at the beginning of November.

For cancellations, late arrival, early departures or no-show the following fees apply: 30 days or more prior to arrival, no charge: within 21 days of arrival, 50 % of agreed tariff; less than 21 days before arrival, 100 % of agreed tariff.
