The Last House

Manor House Concepts is known to own some of the best boutique hotels in Sri Lanka. This time it presents The Last House, the best beach boutique hotel in Sri Lanka representing barefoot luxury at its most stylish. Famous architect Geoffrey Bawa's stunning design has resulted in a chic villa offering guests intimacy as well as space for relaxation and escape, and is perfectly placed for whale watching and leopard safaris in Yala. Situated at the end of unspoilt Mawella beach in Tangalle, this beach beauty can be booked in part or as a whole house, and is staffed (including a chef) to sleep up to 14 guests. It is well suited for couples and families; extra beds and cots are available.

The Last House is the best beach hotel in Sri Lanka, perfect for a relaxing seaside holiday with the option of visiting some of the best cultural and heritage destinations on the south coast. Whale watching, snorkelling, dolphin watching and fishing can be organised for those who love the sea. Culture vultures must visit the Mulkirigala Caves which boast a remarkable temple and monastery carved out of a large and sheer rock. Fans of Bawa’s architecture should visit Ruhuna University and Claughton House, and the famous town of Galle has its own UNESCO World Heritage Site at the fort as well as some great shopping! After a dip in the pool, spoil yourself and book one of the many treatments on offer at The Last House including Ayurvedic massage, Thai massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy to name a few.

Anyone who stays at one of Sri Lanka's best boutique hotels would and should expect the food to be as delicious as the room is beautiful. As The Last House is near to the beach, it serves fresh and wholesome seafood from a kitchen that has been developed over time using regular consulting chefs; they have had extensive experience in Australia, the UK, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Dinner at The Last House might start with Ocean Crab Salad with Spicy Coconut Sauce, followed by Crispy Skin Snapper Fillet with Coconut Lime and Dahl Sauce. A full selection of authentic and traditional Sri Lankan Curries remains a popular choice amongst guests and involves the whole household doing their part in the kitchen.
