About this Chic Retreat

Buxhall Coach House is an independent and romantic chic retreat in the grounds of Buxhall Vale, a stunning Georgian house surrounded by 40 acres of natural gardens and orchards, available for exclusive rental. With one double and one twin, this little gem works well as a spacious pad for 2 or a chic country retreat for a group of friends.

Sarah Townsend of Palazzo Terranova fame is behind the Buxhall Coach House which consists of a spacious entrance hall leading onto to a fully-equipped utility/cloak room (complete with the use of Hunter wellies!), kitchen, sitting room & study and en-suite bedroom. Nothing but the best for Sarah; the bespoke kitchen has been made by Keith Gray and comes with a four oven aga, surrounded by stunning hand-made tiles, and a Lacanche Range Cooker, a wine fridge and Sub Zero fridge/freezer. Sarah has made her mark on the sitting room using her signature colours of purples & lime greens from the Manuel Canovas range of fabrics. During the Winter months you can enjoy a glass of red wine in front of the woodburner, surrounded by a mix of modern and period art & antiques.

The charming study (perfect room for a travel cot if travelling with baby) leads off the sitting room through French doors which can separate the two rooms if need be. Complimentary WiFi is available for use during your stay and there is also a Flat Screen Television with SKY & sound system. This charming chic retreat has been featured in the Financial Times How to Spend it and Travel & Leisure Magazine.

Accommodation

Soft greys and lavenders add to the romantic feel of the bedroom which features a super king-size bed complemented by stunning bedlinen from Josephine Home. The enormous en-suite Travertine bathroom boasts a large walk-in shower, dressing area with cupboards, 2 basins and separate bathroom with loo, bidet, basin, heated towel rails & large bath, perfect for two! There is also a smaller room with a truckle bed (twin) sleeping two children or a single adult.

Activities

Just 20 minutes from historic Lavenham and 30 minutes from Newmarket, Buxhall Coach House is the perfect base from which to enjoy the Suffolk countryside & villages. Picnics can be arranged by the river in the Summer months and within the grounds there is a natural wildlife sanctuary filled with many rare species. Stowmarket golf course is 5 minutes walk and there is also a new driving range. Italian cooking and bread-making courses can be arranged throughout the year.

Dining

A welcome basket including home-made bread, bottle of wine and other essentials is included in the rate. Whilst Buxhall Coach House is essentially self-catering..you needn't lift a finger during your stay if you prefer not to cook. Sarah's daughter Honor, who was the award-winning Chef at Palazzo Terranova is just 5 minutes away and can prepare anything on request including sauces from her range at Simply Sugo to freshly-made pasta and other Italian specialities. Why not pre-order one of her delicious and authentic 'pasta al forno', ready for your arrival at Buxhall Coach House. Wine lists, including Champagne, and full serviced dinner menus are available on booking enabling you to arrange the perfect romantic retreat!

Rates

Rates are per night for two people. A cot and high chair can be provided on request at no extra charge. To maintain the privacy of the guests, turn down service is not provided at night. Between 11-12am each day the Coach House is serviced.
