About this Chic Retreat

Trasierra is a charming boutique hotel nestled in Andalucia's Sierra Morena Mountains. The aromas of the garden suffuse the air and the 350-acre estate is replete with olive and orange groves, owned by Charlotte Scott and her family, who have given this unique spot a home-from-home feel that will leave guests feeling relaxed & at ease. White-washed walls, terracotta roofs and charming interiors which mix traditional English and Spanish country design create a simple rustic ambience. Coupled with the amiable hosts, Trasierra is a hotel for those who wish to be treated as friends and relax in a tasteful chic retreat. Yoga breaks are held throughout the year.

Accommodation

Trasierra has 17 rooms & suites which can be rented as such, or divided into 3 small private houses & cottages. Rooms are spacious with light coloured walls from which the stylishly chosen furniture and fabrics stand out all the more. Woven straw mats, elegant white furnishings with delicate carving, stripes, floral prints and lacy frills are expertly combined to create a luxury haven from which to enjoy the beautiful Andalucian countryside. Everywhere there is something to catch the eye, and the multitude of interesting fabrics and furnishings flawlessly blend with the style of each room. Beds range from doubles to kingsizes that separate into twins so all arrangements can be catered for. Bedroom 2 has a romantic four poster and the Green Room is a single with a carved bed which connects well with another room, great for families. The studio suite has a large antique bed in the high-ceilinged room.

The rooms can be divided into houses with either a separate pool or share of a large swimming pool, terrace and bar. Guest houses and the cottage have kitchens of varying sizes. Rooms are ensuite and some have free-standing tubs, showers, or combined baths & showers. Guest house 2 has a piano in the cosy living room complete with fireplace, inviting sofas and a TV. For large groups, the main house has 4 large doubles, each with their own sitting rooms and one has a balcony. Alternatively Trasierra also offers exclusive rental and there are 4 double rooms available for staff. With such beautiful and individually-styled rooms, guests will be spoilt for choice, and will no doubt leave inspired to make some home improvements of their own!

Activities

Guests at Trasierra can enjoy the beautiful surroudings on long walks, go horseriding, or take a day to go birdwatching and observe the large variety of local blooms. Tennis is available at Trasierra and guests can relax in nature and do yoga (specific Yoga courses run througout the year). To capture the beauty, paint the landscape with the aid of Trasierra's inspiring artist tutors or read a book in the comfort of the sitting room. In October, shooting can be arranged.

Trasierra's other courses include Spanish lessons, photography, musical weekends & talks on flamenco and can be organised on request. Yoga Retreats are held throughout the year. Rates and dates available on request.

Dining

The Trasierra menu has been created by some excellent local cooks and the Scott family and uses ingredients picked from the Trasierra garden and sourced from local suppliers. Simple local dishes have been given a contemporary twist, and guests can expect refreshing salads, perfect in the summer sun, unfussy meat and fish dishes, and there is always a leg of pata negra jamon iberico from one of the local farms which is served with bread brushed with garlic, tomato & local olive oil. The winter menu includes dishes such as chickpea and chard soup, meat stews with herbs and baked local pears in wine, and no guest of Trasierra should leave without trying the homemade marmalade. A lunch buffet is served by the pool under the shade of a pergola.

Rates

Rates at Trasierra are per room per night unless specified otherwise and include buffet breakfast and taxes. Children are welcome and beds can be provided. Houses come fully staffed with maids to clean and cook and wash up breakfast and a gardener who will also carry bags and clean the pools as well as tend to the gardens. Exclusive rental with room for up to 34 people includes full staff and use of everything and excludes food, drink and transfers. Large groups can have a yoga lesson every day. A minimum stay of 2 nights applies. Small pets may be accommodated on request. Yoga breaks are held throughout the year - dates and rates are available on request - usually 600 pounds for four nights all inc and 1050 for week.ie about 150 per person sharing.

Cancellation policy

A non-refundable deposit of EUR 200 is required 6 weeks prior to arrival unless the full amount is paid instead. Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation charged (including the deposit) will apply per person. More than 31 days prior to arrival, 40% of the total will be charged. 31-15 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total will be charged. 15-8 days prior to arrival, 70% of the total will be charged. 7 days or less prior to arrival, 100% of the total will be charged. These fees also apply to any courses booked at Trasierra. No cancellation fee will amount to less than the deposit amount.
