About this Chic Retreat
Storfjord Hotel is ideally situated for Aalesund, the airport, and touring the stunning West Coast. Located in 6 acres of private grounds amidst thousands of acres of protected forest lying between 3 mountains and a lake and overlooking the Sunnmøre Alps. This charming boutique hotel has a jetty and boats including kayaks in Glomset Bay. From Storfjord Hotel there are beautiful walks in every direction or just a few minutes drive the choice is endless. Guests can enjoy a scenic walk to the top of one of Glomset's mountains called Hautua with a magnificent view over the village, Storfjorden, Skodje and the Sunnmøre Alps and far beyond. Storfjord Hotel is handbuilt by skilled craftsmen using traditional Lafta (cross logging with whole timbers), this way of building has been part of Norway's culture for hundreds of years and houses and small luxury hotels still stand today after many generations.
Accommodation
This small chic hotel has 6 spacious rooms all individual in design and each with luxury en-suite bathrooms and some with classical four poster beds. Every room has a balcony with magnificent views.
Activities
Touring from Storfjord Hotel is stunning and dramatic in all directions with Aalesund to the west and the dramatic scenery of the fjords and mountains to the east. Storfjorden is the main fjord that connects with Geirangerfjord and Hjørundfjord UNESCO's Heritage Sites. From Magerholm 10 minutes away are excursions to both fjords. The local mountain walks are suitable for everyone, or for the more adventurous take a ferry crossing to the high rugged mountains of the Sunnmøre Alps where you can walk to a great altitude with views over the counties and deep fjords.
Dining
Dinner is served in the timbered hall and drinks can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere on the gallery landing overlooking Glomset Bay, Storfjord and the Alps. A set menu made from local ingredients of the highest quality is prepared by the chef. Meals are planned in advance and any dietry restrictions or vegetarian requests can be catered for.
Rates
Rates are per room per night. Minimum 2 night booking. Stofjord Hotel will be open from the 20th December to 3rd January. Minimum three night stay over Christmas and New Year. Rates during this time are per room on a half board basis.
