About this Chic Retreat
Hacienda Zorita, Wine Hotel & Spa is set amidst a magnificent wine resort and boutique hotel near Salamanca, overlooking the river in the Duero Valley. Dating back to the 14th-century this Chic Retreat used to be a Dominican monastery where Christopher Columbus stayed before discovering America. Now a luxury wine hotel and spa this country estate has 40 rooms, suites and villas created from the original Dominican cells. This small luxury hotel hideaway offers guests a magical experience in one of the best wine and natural food estates of northern Spain, just 10 minutes from Salamance and 2 hours from Madrid.
Accommodation
Many of the 23 suites and villas and 17 rooms at Hacienda Zorita, Wine Hotel & Spa look out onto the river whilst others look across the surrounding vineyards set in the countryside of the Duero Valley. Local materials have been used in the rooms against the backdrop of Villamayor stone, country chic style and modern art. The Villas, which are named after various types of local grape, sleep 2 and have their own private garden and terrace. All of the accommodation at Hacienda Zorita is air-conditioned, with complimentary WiFi, LCD TVs and safes. The villas and suites both feature iPod docking stations, Nespresso machines and concierge service. Disabled access is available in all of the villas.
Activities

Hacienda Zorita's restaurant Zorita's Kitchen offers organic specialities of the Hacienda as well as a range of tasting and tapas options. Enjoy some wine tasting of the Marqués de la Concordia wine cellar with its 1450 oak barrels. The Hacienda's specialities include extra virgin olive oil, local cheese and hams from Hacienda Zorita Organic Farm and the gourmet experience here is all about the slow food concept. The Cheese Room is just 15 minutes from the Hacienda Wine Hotel & Spa and gives guests the chance to taste a fantastic selection of cheeses complemented by the wine from the estate. Enjoy a cool drink or cocktail at The Wine Market, the hotel bar where no cocktail or drink is too much trouble. Breakfast is a feast of natural, local, organic where possible, products including home made jams, yoghurts, breads and hams.
