About this Chic Retreat
Sher Bagh is a luxury safari camp just 10 minutes' drive from Ranthambhore National Park. This vast park of over 1300 sq km is home to tigers, leopards, civet, caracal, jungle cats, monkeys, marsh crocodiles, antelope, deer, wild boar, hyena and sloth bear and over 350 species of bird with migrants from as far as Siberia and Europe. The history of the country is also written across the landscape, with the ruins of Rajput and Mughal cenotaphs, watch towers and palaces scattered across the park.
Sher Bagh is a wonderfully authentic chic retreat from which to embark on a jungle drive with 12 luxury double-bedroom tents all with private verandahs from which to view the gorgeous natural surroundings. Service is first rate and this chic retreat is committed to conservation and eco-tourism offering guests free talks about ecological issues. The cuisine is wonderful with European options during the day and a sumptuous North Indian menu by evening, while the bar makes a great Bloody Mary for those returning for the day. Relax by the outdoor pool and enjoy the sunset, ready for tomorrow's journey through the park.
Accommodation
Sher Bagh is an original Raj-style camp with 12 luxury double-room tents. Each tent has a verandah positioned to view the surrounding jungle while inside, handcrafted rosewood and teak campaign-style furniture is used to stunning effect. Bedrooms have king-size beds fitted with luxury cotton sheets. The green-marble and sandstone en-suite bathrooms have sunken showers with running hot water and luxury khus (vetiver) soaps, towels, bathrobes and slippers are provided.
Activities
The Ranthambhore National Park is one of the prime places in the world to see wild tigers and strives to support the survival of the Royal Bengal Tiger in India's wilds. A jungle drive will bring you to creatures as rarely seen as the leopard, gazelle and sloth bear. Sher Bagh will also arrange horse & camel safaris to explore the breathtaking surroundings.
After a day's safari, guests can relax by the handcrafted outdoor pool which offers panoramic jungle views or visit the massage tent in the cool shade of the lemon grove. The recently refurbished library bar offers a refreshing drink at the end of the day's excursions. For shopping, Sher Bagh have carefully selected hand-crafted regional products for their boutique and can arrange a visit to the local co-operative, The Dastakari Kendra, which provides employment to village women, keeping local skills alive.
Dining
The dining tent offers a full English buffet breakfast, perfect before your morning game drive. For lunch, a light Italian menu is served and dinner is traditional Indian cuisine, all wonderfully prepared with vegetables from the organic camp garden. Dinner can also be taken al-fresco by the fire.
Rates
Rates for luxury tents for 2 people per night including breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning & afternoon tea, transfers to and from the railway station, airfield or helipad and all applicable government taxes. Children are welcome.
Rates for the Jungle Safari are per person per safari and include individual entry fees, individual contribution to the vehicle entry fee, contribution to the guide/naturalists's fee, your choice of refreshements on board and applicable taxes. They do not include the video camera fee. Rates are subject to change without notice. A deposit of 50% is required to receive a confirmation voucher. Sher Bagh reserves the right to request for a higher and at times non-refundable deposit. The balance is due a month before arrival and without this payment they reserve the right to cancel the stay following the relevant cancellation conditions.
All bookings requests must specify jungle drives (if required) in a Gypsy or Canter vehicle. These must be confirmed through the Forest Department and Sher Bagh does not guarantee entry in the National Park, but will do their best to help clients. Forest Department regulations require bookings for jeeps to be made at least 2 months ahead. Adequate travel insurance is advised.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be made in writing and will incur the following charged unless otherwise specified:
- over 60 days - full refund;
- 59-31 days - 50% of the total invoice;
- 30 days and under - 100% of the total invoice.
For bookings between 20th Devember -7th January a 100% non-refundanle deposit is required.
