About this Chic Retreat
Even during the winter months there is gorgeous sunshine making Masseria Torre Maizza a fantastic winter getaway. Masseria Torre Maizza is an old watchtower of the 16th-century near the sea that after centuries of invasion by the nearby Muslims and Saracens was fortified and became a working farm and a little village, in fact you can still find a Chapel, the old Mill, houses for the workers of the farm and courtyards used to tender the animals.
Accommodation
Masseria Torre Maizza has 28 spacious rooms, stylish but understated, all with cool whitewashed walls, large beds, satin sheets, gilded lamps and small grassy terraces. For a real treat, 2 suites come with their own lap pool. All are set away from the main bar-restaurant-pool courtyard, so they're wonderfully peaceful. Direct dial phones, flat-screen satellite TV, WIFI, CD and radio player. Guests can choose from a 150-movie library in the main house.
Activities
Masseria Torre Maizza has its own riding centre which offers lessons to all ages. Guests can enjoy promenades through the olive groves and along the sandy beach nearby. During December there are some lovely Christmas markets and a beautiful live nativity show in some of the ancient caves nearby. There's a cookery school, hip beach club, help-yourself mountain bikes, Aveda spa with Turkish bath, grounds with gorgeous picnic spots. There is also a stunning Yacht which guests can hire. Masseria Torre Maizza also has its own driving range, putting green, pitching green and sand area, as well as a 9 hole executive course overlooking the sea. The famous 18 hole San Domenico Golf Course is only 1 km away. In the Masseria there is a beautiful infinity swimming pool with a jacuzzi among the old columns and the orange garden. COCCARO GOLF CLUB Placed around the Masseria Torre Maizza, immersed in the apulian countryside very close to the sea with beautiful view of the sea and many many olive trees 700 years old were we produce our olive oil, also many almond trees that flower in march. The course is very varied with many up and downs and water obstacles such as the lake around holes 2 and 8 and the many Mediterranean bushes surrounding holes 4 and 7. Many of the greens are split level for short game and of course the secular olive trees come very much in the game too. The very ample driving range is long 270 m. There is also a vast pitching area with bunkers and putting green. Par 27 mt. 1109, rental of golf set, carts. The golf course is next to the Masseria Maizza with changing rooms, spa, heated swimming pool, beach club and shop. At 1 KM from the Masseria there is: SAN DOMENICO GOLF CLUB, this Golf course has been built by the architects of the PGA, the organization that organizes all the best Golf Tournaments in the world. It has been built on the sea and is the only golf course in south of Italy were from every hole you can look at the adriatic sea. It is a link style course with enormous greens and bunkers deep and ample in defence of these greens. Par 72 mt 6125. A free shuttle is available from the Masseria for the San Domenico Golf
Dining
Seventy per cent of the food is grown in the hotel's organic garden and fruit orchards - beans, chicory, zucchini, sweet peppers, oranges, wild herbs and sweet cherries. The Masseria has 2 restaurants; One restaurant is under a beautiful pergola for the Summer evenings or the old stables for the Winter period. Next to the swimming pool there is also a Cabana Restaurant for buffet lunches during the summer: The cuisine at the Masseria is creative Apulian where they try to blend the Apulian traditional dishes with a mixture of new tastes following the philosophy of Natural Fresh and Light Cuisine.

Rates at Masseria Torre Maizza include breakfast, VAT and services. Children of all ages are accepted all year except for August when they must be over 10 years old. LOW SEASON - 03.01 - 01.04, 06.04 - 07.05, 26.09 - 30.12. MEDIUM Season - 02.04 - 05.04, 08.05 - 09.07, 30.08-25.09. HIGH SEAON - 10.07 - 29.08, 31.12 - 03.01. In August, children over 10 years old are welcome to stay. COT EUR 25 per day (0 - 3yrs), 3rd bed EUR 80 per day (4 - 11yrs), 3rd bed EUR 140 per day (from 12 yrs). Single use of a double will be charged at EUR 40 less than the stated price.
