About this Chic Retreat

L'Albiousse is a newly-opened small luxury b & b in the charming market town of Uzes. Sophisticated 18th-century style and contemporary design are in perfect balance, with Louis XIII doors and impressive stonework alongside chic contemporary chandeliers made from recycled ventilation piping. Life at L'Albiousse centres on the cool courtyard where guests can enjoy the delicious breakfast, and with only 4 rooms, you are guaranteed privacy if you want a quiet afternoon reading in the shade and in the evenings, snuggle up in the living room with its vaulted ceilings and large stone fireplace.

Accommodation

The 2 rooms & 2 suites of L'Albiousse have been wonderfully-appointed with contemporary additions complementing the original 18th-century features such as stone fireplaces and antique doors. Suite 201 stays true to its origins, with a highly authentic style and restored wood-beamed ceiling while the en-suite shower room is strikingly modern and luxurious, all slate and clean lines. Suite 209 has a more contemporary feel and both suites feature private shaded balconies with dining tables and day beds while the 2 rooms are no less decadent in style. All rooms have high-quality Pirelli bedding & Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers and REN bath products. The rooms have large queen-size beds, while the suites have king-size beds and in addition to the room facilities, suites also have 24" iMacs, internet access, complimentary mini-bars, espresso coffee & tea making facilities and in-room safes.

Activities

With the delightful shops, markets, cafes and restaurants of the picturesque town of Uzes right on your doorstep, it is easy to while away an afternoon enjoying the finer things in life in the pretty streets and there is a thriving arts & crafts industry for those who want to find some souvenirs, be it pottery or painted furniture. To gain an insight into the history of the town, take a guided tour around the Duchy of Uzes, one of the best preserved feudal complexes found in the centre of a town where you will find architecture from the Renaissance and Gothic periods as well as the Middle Ages. The town is the starting point of an impressive Roman aqueduct used to supply the city of Nimes which is 25 km away, as it sits at the source of the Eure river. Be sure to try the fine local produce, with delicious truffles, olives and local wines among the treats you will find. The surrounding region has some great vineyards and wine tastings can be arranged, or have your hosts pack you up a picnic and head off on a country walk, or perhaps an afternoon bathing in the Gardon river. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the 9-hole golf course in Uzes, or for the adventurous, why not try kayaking or canoeing or view the region from a hot air balloon. In the evening, return to L'Albiousse for a game of cards in the living room or pre-dinner drinks out in the courtyard.

Dining

L'Albiousse's breakfast is a great way to start the day, a generous menu including fresh juices, fruit salads, cakes and patisserie, eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and other tasty dishes. A picnic can be packed up for you for your days out, using fresh locally-sourced produce, and dinners can be arranged with advanced notice, while there are some great restaurants in town that come highly recommended.

Rates at L'Albiousse are per room per night based on 2 people sharing and include breakfast and VAT. Extra beds can not be accommodated.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations made more than 15 days prior to arrival, a EUR 20 admin fee will be deducted from the refund of your 30% deposit. Between 14 and 3 days prior to arrival, the full deposit will be forfeit. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the arrival date and no shows will be charged the full amount of the stay by credit card. No refunds or compensations will be given for late arrivals or early departures. Full payment is required at time of booking for some special offer rates which are non-refundable.
