About this Chic Retreat

Saint Rémy de Provence is a Provençal market town which is synonymous with Van Gogh, who found inspiration in its light and landscapes, producing about 150 paintings here, and it is still a favourite with artists. La Maison du Village is the talk of this chic market town and offers tranquillity and relaxation in a refined and elegant environment. Many of the original features remain and antique mirrors, chandeliers and iron day beds have been mixed with contemporary sofas and chairs designed by Christian Astuguevieille. The result is a stylish and highly individual boutique hotel.

Accommodation

There are 5 suites in this small chic hotel: Ecru (a duplex off the courtyard garden with its own patio) and, in the main house, Violet, Pink, Raspberry and Beige. All have a bedroom, sitting room and bathroom with roll-top bath (except Pink), but each has a different ambience, layout and outlook. Beige is on the 2nd floor and akes its name from the colour of its chaise longue but is accented with mulberry curtains and a strawberry-pink bedcoverwith. It enjoys views across the garden and the bell tower of St-Martin. The pink room, on the first floor, has a bath in the middle of the bathroom with views across to the bell tower. La Maison du Village has handwritten, ribbon-tied menus, Côté Bastide bath products, background lounge music and glorious scented candles (La Maison du Village is the local suppliers for Diptyque). Each room has an ipod docking station and WIFI.

Activities

La Maison du Village also has a boutique selling wonderful linen, Diptyque candles, cushions, drapes and materials in a fantastic array of colours. Guests are given passes to use a beautiful 50 metre swimming pool at the nearby Hotel Les Ateliers.

Dining

Breakfast is served in the pretty, gravelled courtyard garden and the salon de thé serves fresh, home-made cakes to guests. Dinner is available (for guests only) by special arrangement. There is an honesty bar in the salon giving guests the freedom to help themselves to drinks whenever they like.

Rates

Breakfast is 12 Euro. Parking is 7 Euro. Passes to a nearby pool are available at 9 EUR per day.
