About this Chic Retreat
Le Logis de Bresdon is a small boutique B&B and gite in a 19th-century manor house near Cognac, Charente Maritime. This chic retreat is the perfect place to indulge in life's simple pleasures and the welcoming owners, Kathy & Chris, are eager to impart their local knowledge and share their love of the this beautiful part of France. Set in 8 acres of gorgeous gardens and meadows and with a private orchard where guests can help themselves to peaches, figs, plums and apples. This country retreat is a tranquil hideaway, perfect for a relaxing getaway soaking up the sun by the heated outdoor pool or exploration of the vineyards & villages of this sunny region. Le Logis de Bresdon is also an ideal venue for friends to celebrate a special birthday or family gathering. This stylishly renovated manor house is complete with wooden flooring & limestone tiles, elegant furnishings and chandeliers in every room.
Accommodation
Le Logis de Bresdon has 4 bedrooms in the manor house 3 doubles & 1 twin, all en-suite with garden views. Rooms are light & airy with a cool palette of greys & blues, and charming antique furniture can be found throughout the house, perfectly in tune with the countryside location. Whilst babies up to 18 months are welcome in the manor house, it is not suitable for children under 14 years old.
The gite adjoining the manor house has 2 bedrooms, a double and a twin, both en-suite and a large open-plan sitting room with a fully-equipped kitchen and private garden with barbeque, perfect for families. Bed linen is the finest Egyptian linens and soft fluffy towels & bathrobes are provided. The gite also has internet access, Sky TV and a DVD player. Cots and highchairs are available. Changeover day is Saturday. The entire property is available for exclusive rental for parties of up to 14 on a catered basis.
Activities
The sunny fertile landscape of Pouitou-Charentes is a wonderful setting for a romantic trip or family getaway. Explore the pine forests, meadows, sandy beaches and medieval villages, venture to La Rochelle with its rugged coastline and sand dunes and sample Cognac from the town itself where it has been made since the 17th-century. If wine is more your thing, Bordeaux is little more than an hour from this chic retreat and a definite must for tastings.
Keen golfers can take a day on one of the nearby courses and there are tennis courts and horse riding available nearby. The region is ideally explored by bike and staff are happy to arrange rentals. But, in such a tranquil setting, why rush around? Why not lay by the heated outdoor pool with a cool drink or relax in the hot tub on the terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside watching the sun set or later in the evening, indulge in a spot of star gazing.
Spend the day outside playing croquet, badminton and boules or have a quick round of table tennis in the barn. Hot Stone Massage is available throughout the year.
Dining
For breakfast, enjoy fresh croissants, pains au chocolat and delicious bread with Le Logis de Bresdon's homemade jams made from fruit from the orchard, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad and freshly squeezed orange juice. Kathy is an accomplished cook and offers 'table d'hote' every other evening, using vegetables and fruit from the garden and as far as possible, local organic produce. She can cater for all diets, including vegetarian and gluten free.
Rates
Rates at Le Logis de Bresdon are per room per night for B&B guests including breakfast and per week for the gite. A minimum 2 nights stay applies for B&B guests during high season. Dinner is charged at EUR 35 including aperitif, 4 courses, wine, coffee.

Cancellation policy
25% deposit to confirm the booking and this is not refundable in case of cancellation.
