La Villa Hotel has already established an enviable reputation as one of the most relaxing, indulgent and comfortable boutique hotels in Europe. Originally built for a wealthy local benefactor, the property has undergone careful and thoughtful renovation to restore many of the old country features typical of the area. La Villa Hotel currently accommodates up to 30 guests with suites, double and single rooms, all with antique and period furniture purchased in the local area. La Villa is set in the Piedmont (Piemonte in Italian) region, home of many of Italy's (and the world's) finest wines including Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera, some of the most sought after cheeses in Italy, amaretti biscuits, artisan chocolate and grappa, plus the renowned white truffle!

La Villa Hotel features in Gary Rhodes' TV series 'Rhodes across Italy' to be shown in January 2010 on the Good Food channel and has won many awards, including in 2009, Travel & Leisure Magazine's 'Top 45 New Hotels in the World' and a TripAdvisor award as one of the 'Top 10 Hotel Gems of Europe'.

Accommodation

The 14 rooms at La Villa Hotel have been designed to suit all requirements - from single rooms to large & luxurious suites - making it ideal for a single visitor or for families and groups. The layout of the rooms has also been designed to be extremely flexible, so that larger parties or families can take over a complete area or wing of this country house hotel, with friends accommodated in neighbouring rooms, and with private access to the group of rooms. There is also a mix of styles throughout the hotel, from the exotic Moroccan room to the refined French Quarter and the rustic Italian style rooms with their lustrous woods and wrought iron furnishings. Many of the rooms have private balconies or terraces where guests can just relax and take in the peace & quiet. All of the rooms have individual air-conditioning, satellite flat screen TVs, DVD & CD players (on request), telephones, complimentary WiFi, luxury toiletries, pool towels, slippers & bathrobes.

Activities

Landscaped gardens surround La Villa Hotel and guests can relax in the bar, sample some fine wines in the tasting room and sunbathe out on the terraces. The swimming pool has views along the valley, and this luxury hotel also has a small gym and a massage room for pampering, manicure & pedicure treatments. The area is also well known for horse riding, golf, cycling and walking and, within a reasonable distance, guests can go shooting & fishing. Most importantly, the owners can arrange wine and grappa visits and tastings, from Barbera to Barolo and Barbaresco. The area surrounding La Villa Hotel has the highest concentration of gourmet restaurants in all of Italy.

Dining

La Villa Hotel serves a generous continental breakfast in the courtyard overlooking the vineyards, and in the breakfast room in colder weather. They have also newly opened La Vie Restaurant which serves simple Italian food made from top quality ingredients - everything sourced from local suppliers. Food is flavourful, fresh and seasonal. passionately cooked and elegantly presented with a selection of high-quality local wines to match. This is La Vie.

La Vie is open to guests every day during the main season (except Tuesdays - unless by prior arrangement). The set menu changes daily. Vegetarians and those with allergies and other dietary preferences can be catered for with a bit of advance notice. This chic hotel takes food seriously and also offers a range of cookery courses throughout the year, from one-on-one sessions to group classes.

Rates

Rates at La Villa Hotel are per room per night and include local taxes and service, together with continental breakfast. Children over 8 years old are welcome to stay at La Villa Hotel.
