About this Chic Retreat

Guests return year after year to Baur B&B, not only to check on the continuing restoration progress, but because they are welcomed with open arms by owners Diana and Michael and enjoy the warm, inviting atmosphere. Situated in Acqui Terme, Piemonte this small chic hotel is an ongoing project with every phase completed little by little. The love and passion that have been poured into Baur B&B is evident throughout and whilst Diana asks you not to seek perfection, it is easy to see why this little gem casts a magic spell over everyone that stays here.

Accommodation

The 3 charming rooms at Baur B&B are filled with a selection of Diana's art. Created from pigment, marble powder, plaster and sand her art is very much part of the design and comfort of the room. The Suite is in the oldest part of the farmhouse, on the top floor. With a sitting room complete with WiFi, TV and mini bar guests have their own space to relax, have a drink and read a book. The en-suite bedroom has a queen sized bed fitted with Italian linen sheets. The en-suite double room, with its pretty marble floors, has a sitting area, desk and little TV corner. The king size is made up with a blend of Italian linen and Egyptian cotton bedlinen. The Terrace Room, whilst not the largest, is perhaps our favourite with its cathedral ceilings, double rain forest shower, and a private terrace where you can enjoy a glass or two of the complimentary house wine. This room enjoys climate control and satellite TV with European and US channels. In all of the rooms there are little details that you perhaps not expect at a small chic hotel but would normally expect in a larger luxury hotel including luxury products, robes, slippers, complimentary mini bar and pool towels.

Activities

Enjoy a true Italian experience at Baur B&B - Piemonte is a foodies paradise and there are many open markets that you can enjoy throughout your stay. After you have picked your favourite gourmet delights, why not rent the kitchen and cook yourself an authentic Italian feast and chat with your friends into the small hours of the morning. Piemontese cooking classes are also available and depending on the time of year include cooking with porcini, truffles, local cheeses and many other local delicacies. Wine lovers can spend hours and even days wine tasting as there are over 600 wineries all within an hour. Baur B&B offer cooking classes, wine tours, wine pairing menus/dinners , and degustazione, including flights of Barbera, Dolcetto, Barberesco and Barolo in our private wine cellar, where we house over a thousand bottles of Piemontese wine.

For those looking for a bit more activity why not hop on one of the mountain bikes and enjoy the surrounding hills and quiet country rodes. Golfers won't be disappointed as five of Italy's best golf courses are in Piemonte and four are within easy reach of Baur B&B. Massages and treatments can be organised on site by prior arrangement. If you ask very nicely Diana may let you into her creative space to watch her make her stunning ceramics - we are hoping she will be selling them online very soon, but join the queue, we are first in line!

Dining

There are some great local restaurants to choose from and Diana creates some simple and delicious Italian dishes on request.

Rates

Minimum 3 night stay. Rates are per room per night and include gourmet breakfast, compimentary mini bar, two different house wines (two bottles per day).

20% non refundable deposit required at booking. Balance due at check out.
If you cancel 14 days or less before your arrival date, a total of 50% of the room rate will be due.
If you cancel 1 day or less before your arrival, the full balance of your stay will be due.

Visa and Master Card are accepted.
Check in hours are 3 - 7 pm. Hours outside of these will have to be cleared first with the owners.
