Castello di Petroia

NIGHT

Castello di Petroia has been in the Sagrini family since the early 1900's.  Sitting amidst olive trees and parkland overlooking the hills and valleys surrounding Gubbio, this medieval castle offers guests a memorable Umbrian experience. Situated between Gubbio and Perugia this magnificent Chic Retreat is steeped in history and dates back to the 9th-century. The 13 rooms and suites are spread throughout the three buildings which are surrounded by original medieval walls.

Activities

There are plenty of footpaths around the Castello di Petroia estate allowing guests to explore the parkland.  Gubbio, Assisi, Norcia and Pergugia are all towns worth vistiing and Perugia has a great selection of shops and restaurants. Others may prefer to simply relax by the pool and enjoy the tranquillity of the location.

Dining

Dining in the medieval hall at Castello di Petroia is an experience not to be missed. With thick stone walls and a large fireplace it transforms into a very romantic setting in the evenings.  Chef Walter Passeri has created an authentic Umbrian menu which also includes some seafood dishes.

Castello di Petroia was not affected by the recent tragic events that have taken place in Italy and we remain fully functional and open for existing and new reservations. We wish to extend heartfelt thoughts to all those affected during these times.
