About this Chic Retreat
Pousada Picinguaba is situated in a calm and peaceful bay at the heart of the Natural Park of "Mata Atlantica", the tropical coastal forest running between Rio and São Paulo, and about 30 minutes drive south of Paraty. With 4km of deserted beach a few steps away the fishing village of Picinguaba sits on an unspoilt bay with views across crystal clear turquoise water - this hip hotel is hidden away at the end of the village up a path which can only be accessed by foot (250m up a hill). A charming rustic-chic hotel in an exceptional location, ideal for enjoying the surrounding nature and the local way of life; a limited number of rooms means Pousada Picinguaba retains an exclusive allure and allows for both a high quality and an individual service for all of their guests, whether you come for a romantic break or with a larger group of family or friends. In addition, we would like to put a mention on winter at Pousada Picinguaba (May-October), the new best time to come. With a little help from global warming, over the past few years, this region in Brazil has become a fantastic destination for the winter months - May to October. Little rain, beautifully sunny most of the time, cooler nights.
Accommodation
Pousada Picinguaba has 10 rooms, all with views of a vast garden and the sea beyond, a private boat and a wonderful restaurant serving fresh authentic Brazilian food with some of the best fish in the area, caught daily by the local fishermen. Each of the rooms is decorated in a simple rustic style and have a private balcony and hammock ideally positioned for gazing out to sea and spotting hummingbirds in the garden. The honeymoon suite is magnificent with its own entrance and huge jacuzzi tub and en-suite shower room. The view is stunning and stretches right across the bay. The honeymoon suite is worth the extra money - not only are the views the best in this hip hotel but there are no rooms above, below or either side ensuring utmost privacy and the jacuzzi bath in the room is big enough for two!
Activities
Thankfully there are no TVs or CD players, internet or air-conditioning in the rooms allowing guests utmost tranquility and escapism. Guests can snorkel, ride, take a boat trip or visit the famous and charming town of Paraty which is 30 minutes away. Private schooner, Surf board rental and classes and kayaks are also available.
Dining
The restaurant serves fresh authentic Brazilian food with some of the best fish in the area, caught daily by the local fishermen and fresh organic products from their farm, Fazenda Catuçaba. Guests eat in the dining room or in the garden near the swimming pool and help themselves to dinner from the large dining table
Rates
Rates at Pousada Pincinguaba include bed, breakfast , dinner and taxes for two. Minimum stay of 3 nights required at all time, 4 nights from 10 January to 30 April 2012 and 6 nights from 15 December 2011 to 10 January 2012, during Carnival, 20 February to 10 March 2012, and Easter 10 - 30 April 2012. Extra bed for children aged 4 to 16: from BRL 193. Children up to 3 years of age stay free of charge.

Cancellation policy
50% deposit required until the expiration date of this reservation to confirm the booking and the balance paid 30 days prior to arrival. After payment, changes to number of room-nights will be evaluated case by case.
- Amounts paid with credit card are not refundable. However, in case of cancellation within 30 days before arrival, your stay can be rescheduled once for any available dates in the following 12 months (except at peak season dates, i.e. New-Year period, Carnival and Easter).
- Early check-outs are non-refundable.
