The postcard-perfect village of Minster Lovell in the Cotswolds hides this beautiful boutique hotel, The Old Swan and Minster Mill. Comprised of adjoining sister properties, The Old Swan dates back 600 years and epitomises a traditional countryside inn, whilst the Minster Mill is a younger, more contemporary rural retreat.

Restored to a very high standard, this boutique hotel is surrounded by manicured gardens and backed by the River Windrush. It is ideal for romancing couples, and is also a favourite spot for family celebrations and private parties.

Accommodation

Accommodation is split between the luxurious, traditional Old Swan and the more contemporary, purse-friendly Minster Mill. The Old Swan's 16 guestrooms boast fine fabrics, top-quality linens and beamed ceilings and all rooms boast flat screen televisions, DVD players and wifi access.

The rooms at Minster Mill have a more contemporary country style, an eco-friendly conscience, luxurious modern en-suite bathrooms and enjoy views over the gardens and meadows.

Activities

Enjoy long walks in the best of the Cotswolds and roaring fires to greet you back at the boutique hotel. There's plenty of places to visit within a short drive of The Old Swan and Minster, including Blenheim Palace, Birdland Park and Gardens and the Bourton Model Railway Exhibition.

If you're arranging a special occasion, Minster Mill is the perfect setting, along the babbling waters of the River Windrush it is perfect for a spring birthday celebration, wedding party or family get-together. Mill Hall, with its gorgeous cathedral-style ceiling is a great place for a fire-side gathering and parties can be hosted in the big dining room or out in the gardens.

The Old Swan and Minster Mill has its own lovely restaurant, which serves upmarket gastro-pub fare with a strong focus on locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients.

Rates

Rates at The Old Swan and Minster Mill are per room per night and include VAT and full English breakfast. There are a limited number of rooms suitable for z-beds which are provided for children from 4 to 16 years old for £25.00 per night including breakfast, children under 4 stay free of charge. Dogs are charged at a supplement of £20.00 per night, this includes dog beds and bowls.

Six hundred years of history in the Old Swan - very evident in the highly waxed and polished stone floors, roaring log fires and ancient oak-beamed ceilings; juxtaposed with fresh, stylish furnishings and art-work; modern gastro-pub dining and an understated, cosy atmosphere that’s discreet but fun.

Start your Valentine’s Hideaway in the Old Minster with a glass of chilled Champagne by the fire or a Vin Chaud on the terrace by the River Windrush. Time to switch off the Blackberry. After settling into your room, unwrap and relish your complimentary Yon-Ka goody bag from the spa. Then enjoy a quiet aperitif before dinner in the snug or try a game of Scrabble or cards in the Minstrel’s Gallery.
