About this Chic Retreat
From the outside in, Scotch on the Rocks captures Jamaica's beauty and laid-back vibe. Set amid a brightly colored tropical garden, the villa's turquoise exterior walls mirror the brilliance of the Caribbean Sea. Inside, the villa's clean and fresh décor, tastefully accented with Jamaican mahogany furniture, travertine tile floors, intricate fretwork, Caribbean art, and Chinese accessories, create a relaxed atmosphere, sure to soothe the soul. The name "Scotch on the Rocks" reflects both the villa's history and location. Sitting on the rocks just above the Caribbean Sea, "Scotch on the Rocks" was originally owned by a Scottish Lord. In the 1980s, the Earl of Mansfield sold the house to a Jamaican family, renowned for founding Red Stripe Beer. Today, Scotch on the Rocks is still owned by members of that family. "Scotchie," as the villa is affectionately called, is ideal for family vacations or romantic getaways. The villa is extremely private and has a full staff of four, including a cook, waiter, butler and housekeeper. Visit Scotch on the Rocks, and treat your mind, body and soul to a holiday in paradise!
Accommodation
Scotch on the Rocks is a two-storey villa with 5 bedrooms. All bedrooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with DVD/Cable, en-suite bathrooms, private verandahs, mahogany or travertine floors and antique Jamaican furniture. Each bedroom is luxurious and comfortable with fine bed linens, plush duvets and down pillows. On the second-floor is the master bedroom with a king-size bed, and two additional rooms each with a queen-size bed. On the ground-floor, the cottage suite has four single beds and the fifth bedroom has two single beds, which can be converted to a king on request. WIFI is available throughout tScotch on the Rocks.
Activities
Scotchies guests receive 20% off all spa treatments at the Royal Plantation Resort. There are 2 kayaks along with snorkelling gear for guests to use and there is a lovely fresh water swimming pool. By the sea is a private dock with gazebo and protected sea swimming.
Dining
Scotchie's talented chefs know a wide range of recipes and can create a personalized menu, based on your tastes and dietary needs. Here is a sample of the wonderful meals that can be enjoyed at the villa: lobster thermidor, pork and black beans, white rice, fried plantain, and stir-fry vegetables OR jerk chicken, grilled red pepper/sweet potato/ pumpkin/pesto and goat cheese casserole, Jamaican rice and peas, and a tossed green salad with papaya and toasted almonds. Pudding options include a Pina Colada Cheesecake, Fresh Fruit Pavlova or Lemon Meringue pie to name just a few delicious suggestions.
