About this Chic Retreat

The Manor at Ngorongoro is a luxurious chic retreat bordering the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The grand whitewashed cottages are striking Cape Dutch style retreats nestled amid luscious green grounds and are furnished in traditional old world Afro-European style with grand pianos, open fires and embroidered sofas. Guests can enjoy the stunning 1,500 acre Shangri-La estate in which the manor is set and explore the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.

Accommodation

There are 20 luxury cottages in the Manor at Ngorongoro, each with period-style furniture, working fireplaces both indoors and outdoors, panoramic views from their own private courtyards & decking and en-suite bathrooms designed for ultimate endulgence with large free-standing bathtubs & powerful rainshowers. There is 1 three-bedroom family cottage which has a separate entrance to each bedroom & deck and can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children. All cottages have home entertainment centres, private dining areas, courtyards and a large living area.

Activities

The Manor at Ngorongoro borders the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its diverse landscape of grassland, wetland, waterfalls, volcanoes and forests. On a game drive to the Ngorongoro Crater cheetahs, lions, hippos and wildebeest are among the animals that can be seen. To take in the natural beauty of the landscape, go horse riding, traverse the bicycle trails or take a guided walk around the Shangri-La estate. Coffee lovers can take a tasting tour and trips to the Massai Market, Karatu, can be arranged as well as tours to the spectacular Olduvai Gorge and Lake Manyara.

This luxury manor has plenty to do within the grounds as well with tennis courts, a sauna & steam room, home theatre, library, Safari Boutique & Art Gallery and snooker room.

Dining

The Manor at Ngorongoro has a mouthwatering menu of intercontinental and African cuisine which is served in the dining conservatory or formal dining room. With a private wine cellar, a wine can be found to compliment any meal and there is a fantastic bar for an evening tipple.

Rates

Rates at The Manor at Ngororongoro are per night. The Game package includes all meals, drinks, transfers from airstrips, laundry, daytime game drives, bush walks, night game drive, experienced driver guides to accompany all drives & walks. They do not include park fees and extras. Full board rates include all meals, drinks and laundry (excluding certain alcohols) and do not include park fees and extras. Multi camp itineraries and group rates are available on request. Children aged 3-12 are charged 50% of the rate (as charged per person) if sharing and 75% if occupying their own room. On December 24, 25, 31 and Jan 1 a supplement of USD 50 is required. On April 2nd-5th a supplement of USD 40 is required.

Cancellation policy

Bookings cancelled or reduced between 90-45 days prior to arrival will be charged 25% of the rate per night. Bookings cancelled or reduced between 45-22 days prior to arrival will be charged 50% of the rate per night. Bookings cancelled or reduced between 21 days or less prior to arrival or no shows will be charged 100% of the rate per night.
