About this Chic Retreat
Owned by Paul and Jeanne Whittome (owners of boutique hotel, the Hoste Arms) it will come as little surprise to learn of the standard and level of comfort of the accommodation at the Vine House, the newest boutique hotel accommodation to open in Burnham Market. The Vine House has been designed with relaxation and unwinding in mind so after a walk along the Norfolk coast or some serious retail shopping guests can enjoy afternoon tea, a drink or even a light snack in the stylish drawing room or cosy study. A large selection of glossy magazines, books & board games are all available and to maintain the sense of peace the Vine House is an adults-only boutique hotel. Between 6 and 7.30pm the Vine House Butler is on call to serve drinks from the bar in the drawing room or in the pretty walled garden which has been designed by Verity Hanson-Smith. The great thing about staying at the Vine House is that guests have the best of both worlds - breakfast is taken at the Hoste Arms or a hamper with continental breakfast can be served in-room.
Accommodation
The bedrooms, all 7 of them, are opulent and luxurious with some of the loveliest bathrooms we have seen and certainly some of the largest. Each of the rooms have been designed by the owner Jeanne, some traditional and others with a more contemporary feel. The beds are all Vi-Spring beds and free standing baths are a feature in all of the spoiling bathrooms. The colours throughout are taken from the Georgian colour palette and are soft, soothing tones of taupes and golds enhanced with the use of elaborate gilt mirrors and complemented with velvets, linens and antiques.
Activities
Janet Ficarra manages the beauty and holistic therapies at Vine House and has a team of highly trained mail and female therapists offering the highest standard of treatments. Payment is made directly to the therapist.
Dining
The restaurant at Hoste Arms has an innovative menu using the best seasonal and local ingredients. Guests can order Champagne, handmade chocolates and flowers to add a touch of romance, and coffee, tea and drinks and canapés are available to order.
Rates
Rates are per room per night on a bed and breakfast basis. The start rates are for Sunday to Friday and the highest rates are for weekends during the high season which is May, July, August, September and bank holidays. Dinner, bed and breakfast rates are also available.
