Re-opening in Apri 2016 after extensive renovations, Casale Panayiotis is where authentic charm and rural luxury meet to create a boutique hotel and spa in the Cyprus mountains. Hidden away in the spa village of Kalopanayiotis in the Troodos mountains Casale Panayiotis is the ideal base from which to explore the real and traditional Cyprus away from the tourist trail. Families are looked after beautifully here and there is even a spa menu for children!
Enjoy the views from the veranda, relax in the spa or curl up with your favourite book. Head out and explore the Byzantine monasteries, churches and chapels or discover the wine routes, enjoy a nature trail or hike or cycle along one of the fores trails. Fishing, rock-climbing and skiing are all within easy reach for those looking to be a little more energetic. The Myrianshousa Spa meaning 'innumerable blossoms' has natural sulphur spring water which has drawn pilgrims and visitors to take the waters for thousands of years. It is said that in the Hellenic times, the Kings of Soli took refuge from the heat in the mountains and bathed in the spring water. The spa includes a hydrotherapy pool, snow cabin and Sauna & Steam room. There is a choice of therapeutic treatments for adults as well as children and mainly natural ingredients (royal jelly, olives, aloe, clay, honey, herbs) are used.
Dishes at restaurant Byzantino are made from traditional Cypriot recipes handed down from generation to generation. Romantic dinners can be enjoyed on the veranda next to the Setrachos stream and during the cooler months you can dine by the fireside. Epikentro is open from midday and serves cold drinks, coffees, teas and snacks. This is where breakfast is served for hotel guests who can try out the herbal tea made from herbs from the surrounding mountains. The flower-filled courtyard is a peaceful spot to enjoy a chilled glass of wine. If you are after an aperitivo before dinner head to the Kava Bar where you can sample the regions finest wines and share a platter of local specialities.
The 28 en-suite rooms at Casale Panayiotis have all been traditional and individually restored in keep with the old village style. Each of the rooms were once village homes situated around the old village setting and each one is just a few steaps from the spa, restaurant and coffee shop. Original features have been restored wherever possible and local artisan fabrics and handicrafts decorate the interiors including crochet curtains, hand made cushion covers and traditional Cypriot bed spreads.
