Chateau Les Charmettes is a small luxury hotel on a glorious 10-acre park in Auch, Gascony. Nestled between the Basque country and the Mediterranean, the Midi Pyrénées is the perfect place for a romantic break or family touring holiday through France & Spain. Inside this 19th-century manor house, an alluring vision in peach & powder blue, interiors have a wonderful blend of rustic French and Mediterranean styles and the package is completed with great food and friendly service from your knowledgeable host, Cazou. Tour the vineyards of the region, discover the nearby towns and cities, or simply relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the peace & quiet.

Accommodation

There are just 6 exquisitely-decorated rooms at Chateau Les Charmettes, each with a truly distinctive style: Aubade, Blues, Prelude, Duo, Concerto and Fugue. The Concerto Suite, so called no doubt as the grandest suite, has a king-size half-canopy bed fitted with deep red & gold emblazoned sheets with a pampering en-suite bathroom complete with 2-person Jacuzzi, a luxurious addition also to be found in the Duo and Fugue suites. The Prelude, is a pretty, romantic suite with soft baby blue floral prints complimented by fresh white linens with a gorgeous free-standing tub in the bathroom. For honeymooners, look no further than the Duo Suite, all in white, this dreamy room has a king-size bed with a beautiful carved white headboard, a romantic fireplace and a private roof terrace complete with garden furniture and a reclining lounger. All rooms have Satellite TV, WiFi, mini-bars and coffee & tea making facilities. The Aubade Suite is suitable for those with disabilities and can also be combined with the twin Blues Suite as a family suite.

Activities

Chateau Les Charmettes is the kind of place where you will be perfectly happy to while away the days wandering the gardens and reading by the outdoor pool, playing tennis on the pretty courts, walking and jogging around the park or enjoying a relaxing session of Ayurvedic or Chi Nei Tsang massage, but there is a lot to discover, right on the doorstep. To explore the country by horse back, there are stables just 15 minutes away, and keen golfers are utterly spoilt with an 18-hole golf course under 5 minutes from the chateau. Perhaps you would prefer to explore the area by bike, or spend the day fishing in a mountain stream. There are some great vineyards offering wine tastings half an hour's drive, and your hosts will happily recommend the pick of the best, while a thalassotherapy spa and fitness centre offers the best in pampering treatments. For the active, why not go river canoeing, or take a day trip to the Pyrenees mountains an hour away, or the beaches of Biarritz and the Mediterranean a 2.5 - 3 hour journey. The vibrant city of Toulouse can be reached within an hour. A hot-air balloon ride is an exciting way to view the breathtaking scenery. After a day exploring, return to a refreshing drink in the chateau's bar.

Dining

For breakfast enjoy a generous spread served in room, in the park or by the pool. A room-service menu is available for other meals.
