About this Chic Retreat

The Xara Palace is a 17th-century building that forms part of the medieval bastions that surround Mdina, and it is just a few metres from the main entrance of this historical city. As expected at a small luxury hotel, the staff are totally dedicated to exceeding guests' expectations and to make their stay as perfect as possible. The owners, the Zammit Tabona family are very much involved in every aspect of the day to day running of this luxury boutique hotel to ensure that their guests start enjoying their stay as soon as they arrive.

Accommodation

All 17 rooms and suites are decorated with period pieces and original paintings by famous Maltese and international artists. The beds are all king size and the amenities in the rooms are as luxurious as those you would expect in a larger, 5 star luxury hotel. Interconnecting rooms are available for families.

Activities

The Xara Palace offers a mini gym and sauna. Malta is a small island with beautiful clear blue sea. Most beaches have deck chairs, loungers and umbrellas for hire. Windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving and jet skiing are also available. Private tours of the island and to Malta's neighbour Gozo can be arranged. Golfing, wine tastings and skippered day charters can also be organised.

Dining

The 'de Mondion' restaurant has won many awards and is one of Malta's leading restaurants serving modern French and Mediterranean food. The Trattoria AD 1530 is open for lunch and dinner.

Rates

Rates are per room per night and include VAT. Full breakfast is EUR 21 per person. An extra bed for children is charged at EUR 95 per night on a room only basis. A baby cot is free of charge.

Cancellation policy

  • If reservation is cancelled between 7 and 3 days before date of arrival there will be a full night’s charge. 
  • If reservation is cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival a minimum of two nights stay will be charged. 
  • If reservation is cancelled 24 hours prior to arrival the full amount of stay will be charged. 
  • If reservation is cancelled during your stay the full original reservation shall be charged.
