About this Chic Retreat
Riad Magellan is a boutique hotel in the centre of Marrakech's Mouassine district, a few minutes walk from Djemaa El Fna square. Enter through the winding streets to find this peaceful riad, a tranquil oasis in the centre of the city. With just 6 rooms and a wonderful blend of Moroccan style, contemporary luxury and interesting objects collected by the well-travelled owners Stephanie & Philippe, this chic retreat is a relaxing retreat set in a delightful antiques market where vendors pedal their wares. Cool & clean and with friendly & helpful staff, guests can expect great food and service, all at a very reasonable price.
Accommodation
Riad Magellan has just 6 rooms, all individually styled with a colour scheme after which they are named, from plum, to orange and red. With traditional Moroccan materials and contemporary objects sourced from Philippe's hometown, Paris, and around the world, rooms are comfortable and inviting, with luxurious colourful bedding, arched doorways and beautiful carved wooden furniture. Beds are either doubles or twins and all rooms have tadelak ensuite bathrooms with showers, apart from the Red room which has a large bath with shower. The rooms also have complimentary WiFi connection.
Activities
Riad Magellan's friendly staff are happy to arrange day trips by car and point guests in the right direction for restaurants, bars and activities. For a spot of relaxation at the riad, guests can book an in-room massage and there are plenty of games, books and magazines for a relaxing read on the roof-top terrace or in the stylish lounge. Guests can also take a cookery course and learn to make those sumptuous Moroccan classics themselves.
Of course, a huge draw to this riad is its location, minutes from Djemaa El Fna square, and with easy access to the souks, guests can spend the day haggling in the markets before returning to the peace of this small luxury hotel.
Dining
Breakfast can be taken at leisure at the dining table or up on the roof where views of the Atlas Mountains can be enjoyed over a traditional Moroccan feast. Lunch and dinner can be ordered in advance with some wonderful salads & tagines on the menu finished off with a refreshing fruit pudding.
Rates
Rates at Riad Magellan are per room per night including breakfast and not including tourist tax. Free baby cots are available for all rooms and an extra bed can be requested at EUR 20 per night in the beige and red rooms.

Cancellation policy
Between 30 - 8 days before arrival 50% of total reservation will be required. Less than 8 days before arrival 100% of total reservation will be required.
