For something a little more upbeat and stylish in Marrakech, try Riad Jaaneman a new, refined new boutique hotel in the bohemian heart of the Marrakech medina. This hidden oasis of Italian sophistication and design is just a stones throw away from the bustle of the souks and the fragrant smells and sounds of the markets. Jaaneman is an Indian word that literally means Soul of Me but translates into darling and they say that if you listen carefully enough you may just ear it being whispered in the soft shadows of the ancient city. The lavish bathrooms at Riad Jaaneman are stunning and no expense has been spared in design or space.
This luxury riad in Marrakech is located in the Dar el Bacha district of the old town only a few metres away from the Dar el Bacha palace which was originally built for Marrakech's Pacha, Thami El Glaoui, and his harem. Today, the palace is still in use by the Kings brother and is at the heart of a thriving antiques district.
There is always something to do in Marrakech and its surrounding areas: private trips and excursions to the Atlas Mountains, the coast, quad biking in the desert, all can easily be arranged and during the winter ski trips to Oukaimeden can be organised. Golf, horse riding, Yoga, Pilates, massage and cooking lessons can be organised at a time to suit you.
Whilst there is no restaurant as such a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served on the roof terrace at Riad Jaaneman as well as in the courtyard.
The 5 individually decorated suites at Riad Jaaneman are filled with flourishes or art deco, splashes of oriental enchantment and cutting edge design. All have en-suite marble bathrooms with the finest Italian BOFFI fittings and complimenary WiFi. Partenope is the ancient Greek name for Naples, birthplace of the Italian owner and the bedroom is sprinkled with Neapolitan art and furniture while the large, sumptuous bathroom is cast in emerald South American marble and ebony Moroccan tadelakt. Our other favourite suite is Leale Meaning honest and trustworthy in Italian, it comes with its own private courtyard and a lavish Italian white marble bathroom. Hima has a frescoed ceiling while the bathroom is polished in granite and tobacco tadelakt. Gemeaux overlooks the central courtyard and its sumptuous red marble bathroom boasts a discreet but illuminating skylight. Last, but by no means least, Nefelibata which literally means cloud-walker, has the luxury of two walk-in dressing rooms and an en-suite bathroom that is a fusion of Emperor marble and gleaming chrome fixtures.
