Dar Tamazerte is a private-rental luxury villa in the exclusive Bab Adrar development just 28 km from Marrakech. This peaceful spot offers spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains from its 1.5-acre private walled gardens, filled with mature olive, fig & apricot trees and with a large private outdoor pool & boule. The owners, who rent the property when they are not in residence, have thought of everything to make for a pleasant stay and the staff, Latifa & Saidia are always available, cooking wonderful food served out on the terraces. English-speaking host Tim Buxton and his team offers a concierge service, arranging tours & activities, and is ever willing to impart his local knowledge to new guests.

The stylish house has a wonderful mix of traditional Moroccan & contemporary styles and lots of space for relaxing with a rooftop terrace looking out to the mountains, lounge areas with plenty of seating and spacious pergolas around the pool. Guests can also use the Bab Adrar communal facilities including the hammam, fitness room, clay tennis court and there are 5 golf courses within easy reach. With 3 bedrooms, this spacious chic retreat can accommodate up to 6 guests and an extra bed can be provided if required, which means it is great for groups of friends or families. This boutique villa is in the perfect location for visiting bustling Marrakech, for touring the mountains and local villages and for simply relaxing in the Moroccan sun.

Accommodation

Dar Tamazerte is an exclusive-rental villa with 2 double rooms and 1 twin, all stylishly decorated in a traditional Moroccan style with contemporary influences. Enter the bedrooms through the keyhole doorways to find luxurious beds with high-quality linens and colourful silk pillows, intricate stencils that form stylish headboards above the beds, and beautiful Moroccan lampshades. The en-suite bathrooms have baths or showers and each room has its own private terrace so guests can always find a quiet spot to relax in peace if they wish. All rooms have air-conditioning, iPod docking stations, bathrobes, towels, hairdryers and luxury organic toiletries.

Activities

The English / French speaking concierge will organise guided tours of the mountains or coast and adventure sports such as quad biking & mountain biking. Guests can also hire a 4x4, with or without a guide, to access the mountain tracks and desert dunes of the area. Mule-riding and camel rides are also available in the mountains and the Ourika Valley and are a great way to visit the surrounding Berber villages. Take to the skies in a hot-air balloon, or simply admire the view from the roof-top terrace or under the pergolas by the outdoor pool with a cooling cocktail.

The Bab Adrar development has just 8 villas and guests of Dar Tamazerte have access to the beautiful domed hammam, the exercise room and clay tennis court. Golf enthusiasts can practice their game at one of Marrakech's 3 golf courses which are all within a 30 minute drive from the villa.

There are many lakes close to Dar Tamazerte, or if beaches are your thing, take a day trip to Ouilidia, a 3-hour drive away, famous for its oyster farms and lagoon. Of course, with Marrakech so close by, a trip to the souks and famous Medina is a must and staff are happy to organise a personal shopper if requested.

Dining

Dar Tamazerte's breakfast is served out on the terraces, with home-made bread, pancakes, jams & honey, fresh fruit, yoghurt and freshly squeezed juice. Lunch and dinner can be arranged with Latifa and consists of delicious local & international cuisine. There are plenty of great restaurants in Marrakech or the nearby villages for dining out.

Rates

Rates at Dar Tamazerte are for the whole villa and include breakfast and all taxes. Lunch / dinner is charged at EUR 12 / 18 per person. A minimum stay of 3 nights applies, or a 1 week minimum stay in high season when the 6 person rate applies to all bookings. A breakage deposit of GBP 250 is required.

Cancellation policy

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to confirm the booking. Full payment must be received at least 6 weeks prior to arrival and payments are not refundable. If the balance is not received by this time, this will be treated as a cancellation.
