About this Chic Retreat
Intimate and refined, Dar Kawa is a traditional riad with a contemporary soul, nestled in the heart of Marrakech's bustling medina. A minimalist colour scheme of whites and greys, offset by bold contemporary artwork and objet d'art, wonderfully compliment the Saadian 17th-century architecture, with all textiles and linens designed by your host, Valerie Barkowski. With just 3 suites and 1 room, the atmosphere is relaxed and homely, with plenty of space to find a quiet spot to read or take tea, such as the rooftop terrace; there's a veritable library of English and French books scattered throughout the riad, too. After a day exploring the city, return to a massage or beauty treatment and excellent cuisine out on the terrace.
Accommodation
There are 3 suites and 1 double bedroom at Dar Kawa, each individually-styled with a blend of contemporary international and traditional Moroccan design. The groundfloor suite has a fireplace and a luxurious bathroom with a bath that can be used in winter. On the first floor there is one double room and two 2-room suites, perfect as spacious couples suites or family rooms with space for a third guest or child in both.
Activities
Dar Kawa is located at the heart of the Medina, near Ben Youssef, the beautiful Qur'anic school. If you would like to find some crafts to take home, visit the nearby souks. After the day's explorations, return to the riad for an in-room massage or beauty treatment including waxes, pedicure and manicures. There's a music library for a quiet evening in, or head down to Jemaa el Fna Square to experience the famous night market.
Dining
Breakfast is superb, with homemade pancakes and bread, jams made with seasonal fruits, freshly squeezed orange juice and strong coffee. Eggs are cooked to order, and any special requests are catered for as much as is possible. Lunch and dinner are catered for on request, and comprises of traditional Moroccan fare, with inventive Mediterranean and Indian flavours.

Cancellation policy
30 days before arrival: 30% of full rental amount is due. Between 30 and 15 before arrival: 50% of full rental amount is due. Less than 15 days before arrival, no show or early departure: 100% of full rental amount is due.
