About this Chic Retreat
The Peech Hotel is Joburg's newest chic boutique hotel. Situated at 61 North Street, in Melrose it currently has 16 bedrooms and suites, a Bistro restaurant with Champagne bar and a boardroom and events space. This small city hotel is swish and sexy - the ideal hangout for trendy travellers in the hunt for no-frills contemporary style. The Peech Hotel has been described as "Contemporary, edgy and Afrocentric" by Condé Nast Traveller UK and has been nominated as Africa's leading Boutique hotel (World Travel Awards 2008).
Accommodation
The Peech has 13 bedrooms and 3 suites located in the Main House and the annexes. The rooms are modern and edgy with an indigenous, African feel. Crisp white sheets, feather duvets, oregon pine floors and blesbok skins give the rooms a chic, natural feel. iPod docking stations, WIFI and electronic safes ensure they have the latest technology. All rooms are air-conditioned. The bathrooms have chic Hans Grohe fittings, separate 'Raindance' showers, Molton Brown amenities, hairdryers and bathrobes. Flat screen satellite TV's, a Bose iPod SoundDock, WiFi and electronic safes ensure they have the latest technology. The rooms all include a workspace and are generously portioned. The Suite has its own study; the Annex doubles have large picture windows. The bathrooms are spacious, have chic modern porcelain, Hans Grohe fittings, baths and walk-in showers with raindance shower heads, hairdryers and bathrobes. Activities
For a small additional charge guests can also enjoy membership of the adjacent Planet Fitness gym - 50m lap pool, cardio machines, weights room and access to all classes. Despite being one of Africa's largest cities, Joburg is the world's largest man-made forest, with millions of trees and gardens. This small boutique hotel is set amongst these big old trees and an indigenous garden. The Peech has a swimming pool for cooling off in and lazy loungers and hammocks for sitting in the garden and contemplating life. If guests can tear themselves away from the sparkling swimming pool, verdant Joburg has some sites worth seeing. Restaurants, movie theatres and shopping are all within easy access - Melrose Arch, Rosebank and Illovo.
Dining
Bistro @ The Peech is the chic bistro restaurant overlooking the pool & lush gardens. Dining can be indoor or on the terrace and is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The focus is on flavour and polished simplicity. The bistro features the Champagne bar with a wide range of champagnes (including Veuve Clicquot, Pol Roger and Laurent Perrier) as well as some innovative cocktail recipes.
Rates
Rates are per room per night and include full breakfast, VAT and WiFi. A 1% tourism levy applies on accommodation portion of bills. Full pre-payment required 1 month prior to arrival. Baby cots can be provided free of charge. Children under 12 can be provided with a bed at ZAR 350 per night.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be made before 4:00 PM (local time) 4 days prior to arrival to avoid a charge of one night’s room and taxes. An early departure fee of ZAR 500 will be charged if guests check out prior to their departure date. Policies can vary for specials and packages and during peak periods. This will be indicated on your booking if relevant.
