Sukoon is the newest addition to Altaf Chapri's collection of boutique hotels in India which includes Neeleshwar Hermitage and Lotus Kerala. Sukoon was Altaf's father's houseboat and now splendidly renovated it is the first eco luxury houseboat in Srinagar in the Kashmir Valley. Srinagar is is the summer capital of the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir and is situated in the Kashmir Valley. Here you can explore Paradise Valleys stunning scenery, historic treasures, Himalayan wildlife, the mountains and fragrant Kashmiri cuisine. Discover the local villages, floating vegetable gardens and lotus blossom fields. The Mughal Gardens are beautiful and a visit to them is a must during your stay on Sukoon. Golfers who enjoy a challenge can play a round of golf on one of the worlds highest courses. Other activities that can be organised include horseback riding through the mountains in the Valley of Shepherds at Pahalgam, or trips to Awantipura ruins and Pampores saffron fields. Before you leave do try and do the Old City Walk in the old district of Srinagar which includes a visit to one of the most important mosques Jami Masjid followed by a stop at the Zaina Kadal Market and a traditional Kashmiri lunch in a local restaurant.
There is a communal sitting room and dining room where meals are served, though these are often served outside on deck under a canopy of stars.
Sukoon has just 5 rooms and you can choose from a standard room or suite both of which have modern bathrooms with a shower and bath. All of the rooms are air-conditioned and have safes and hair dryers. The main difference between to the two room types is size and the suites have their own dressing room.
