About this Chic Retreat
Las Alamandas is a secluded boutique hotel along the Mexican Riviera where only a handful of guests have exclusive access to over 1,500 acres of unspoilt paradise complete with lush tropical gardens, warm ocean breezes, exotic wildlife, and seemingly endless white sandy beaches. Las Alamandas is located midway between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo in the exclusive Costalegre coast of Jalisco, Mexico.
Accommodation
With only 7 villas (sleeping up to 42) and a very large staff fit for royalty, Las Alamandas is a boutique hotel that offers service well beyond expectation. Isabel Goldsmith has searched out the best of Mexican design, fabrics, and arts and crafts. Mexican rattan sofas are upholstered in canary yellow or shocking pink fabric with brightly colored, embroidered cushions to relax at siesta time. Mexican folk art and hand-painted artifacts combine with furniture crafted by the best artisans in the region. All of the suites and guest villas feature oversized tiled bathrooms, mini-bars and indoor/outdoor lounge areas. High-pitched tile roofs shade spacious terraces furnished for siesta time and al fresco dining. Pale yellow paths, decorated with stone mosaics wind through gardens fragrant with the scent of gardenias, pink and purple bougainvillea, high-blooming jasmine, as well as the brilliant yellow Alamanda flower for which the resort is named.
Activities
The Palapa Beach Club, designed by the noted Mexican architect Manuel Mestre, incorporates Aztec motifs representing the elements of Mother Nature. There are a total of 4 (mile to two-mile long each) private beaches on the property, acres upon acres of meticulously manicured lawn and gardens, private estuaries, and miles of breathtakingly scenic hiking and biking trails. There is a floodlit tennis court and a 20 metre swimming pool with massage jets. A fully equipped gym and a wide variety of massage treatments and salon services are also available in addition to Yoga instruction. Dining
To please the palate, the resort's executive chef, praised for his exotic and creative cooking, combines sauces and spices with organic produce and fresh fish to cut calories without sacrificing flavor.
