About this Chic Retreat
Hotel CasaSandra is a boutique retreat on the unspoilt beaches of Holbox Island. All 20 of the stylish villas feature handcrafted furniture and luxurious fittings and enjoy views out to sea. The Yalahua Lagoon separates Holbox from mainland Mexico and is home to many exotic birds, pelicans and flamingos, and whale sharks come to the north of the Yucatan peninsula between June and September, a spectacular sight to see. The beautiful white sandy beaches, and emerald-green sea are just steps away and guests can spend they day by the outdoor pool or take a rejuvenating treatment in the Sibumi Spa. Fishermen walk the sand-lined roads, and with such rich seas, there are ample opportunities to sample freshly caught fish. Sandra's wonderful vision of a paradise island hotel has been fully realised, and with a keen eye for style and luxury, she has created a real gem.
Accommodation
With 20 rooms, all facing the sea, all guests at Hotel CasaSandra have access to beautiful sea views. Furniture is hand-crafted by artisans to create a harmonious environment, and paintings have been carefully chosen to create a tranquil space. Hand-woven traditional materials adorn the rooms, and balconies have rainbow-coloured hammocks to relax in. There are superior de luxe rooms, suites, master suites and a luxury villa, all with balconies, and most of these are private. The main difference in the rooms is the size, and the luxury villa has a large living room area with satellite TV, two bedrooms, one master bedroom and one bedroom with two double beds, great for a family stay. All rooms have double or king-size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, Indonesian rattan furniture and organic, locally crafted pieces, and bathrobes. Some of the suites have antique bathtubs separate from the shower.
Activities
For relaxing spa therapies, including massage, lymphatic drainage, Shiatsu & Reiki treatments, Hotel CasaSandra's Sibumi Spa is a wonderful place for a day of pampering. Many tours are available to explore the rich and diverse nature of the surrounding area. Nature lovers can kayak through the mangroves and rivers and explore the vast array of bird species, including ospreys, herons, ibis, spoonbills and cormorants, and visit when the whale sharks are in town to have a truly unforgettable swimming experience. Take a trip to the sacred Mayan tree, the "ceiba", which has stood for thousands of years in the jungle of Solferino, before visiting the vast orchid sanctuary. After a day exploring, relax by the outdoor pool with a cocktail and enjoy the sunset.
Dining
The CasaSandra restaurant spans the entire ground floor, and chef Felix, nicknamed "the happy Cuban" has created a menu with a mix of local cuisine and international dishes, with a Cuban touch. All food is fresh, and uses local ingredients, and fresh fish is a must. Diners can have a romantic dinner by torchlight in the evening under the star-lit sky. The bar service serves up lovely cocktails, fresh juices and liquors, great for a relaxing drink on the beach.

Rates at Hotel CasaSandra are per room per night, including breakfast. There is an additional 14% tax.

Cancellation policy
Up to 30 days before arrival, the 50% deposit is refunded minus 10%. 30-22 days before arrival the deposit is non-refundable. 21-8 days before arrival 60% of entire stay is charged. 7-2 days before arrival 80% of entire stay is charged. 2 days before arrival or less 100% of entire stay is charged.
