This extremely popular 26 room restaurant with rooms or boutique hotel serves the best and freshest food in Hampshire.. This gorgeous chic retreat is all about the walled garden and its contents, where everything is led by the gardener and chef. Sister with attitude to the Lime Wood Hotel it is one of the most relaxing and comfortable country house hotels to stay in..sitting areas have big chairs and squashy sofas, roaring fires in winter and a relaxed bar.
Accommodation
The Pig Hotel has 26 rooms and suites spread between the main house and the stableyard. Those in the main house are more along the country house hotel theme continuing the home grown style with the added comforts of great beds and bed linen, modern bathrooms and great views. Whilst in the Stables and Piggery have been transformed into duplex suites and rooms with private courtyards and retained features with all of them having farmyard names such as The Piggery, The Pig House, The Pig Shack. All rooms have Larder cabinets, flat screen televisions and DVD’s.
Activities
The Pig Hotel is lucky enough to be surrounded by the 1000 year old New Forest National Park. The gardens and grounds feature many outside areas for simply relaxing and areas have been created as ‘rooms’ for you to sit and savour the forest and gardens over a glass or two. Wander around and discover hammocks between the trees, the odd bench placed in a little corner and a wood-fired oven in the courtyard for those warmer days when al fresco dining is a must. Nearby places of interest includ Lymington, Burley, Beaulieu Abbey and National Motor Museum. Fishing, golf and horse riding are all nearby and a fun day out for all can be had at Paulton's Park and Marwell Zoo.
Dining
A new, but traditional way of working the kitchen has been introduced at The Pig Hotel. The kitchen is overseen by Chef James Golding (ex Ivy, Caprice, Sheeky’s and Soho House New York) whilst his two key lieutenants are Garry the forager and Mike his kitchen gardener. This means that the menus change by the minute depending upon what the forager finds or what the kitchen gardener deems fit to eat. Home grown is the name of the game with focus on flavour, quality and guaranteed local ingredients 95% of the time. Served in an authentically reproduced Victorian greenhouse dining room, complete with wooden table tops and mismatched cutlery, a meal at The Pig will be a truly unique experience.
Rates
Rates at The Pig Hotel are per room per night including VAT. Breakfast is £10 per person for Continental and £15 per person for cooked. 2 night minimum stay at weekends. Extra beds for children up to 12 years are provided at £15.
