About this Chic Retreat
Book well in advance for Barnsley House! is our advice for those wanting to stay at this luxury country house hotel. The charm of Barnsley House, a classic country house, is that the owners have renovated it whilst retaining its English character. The house itself was built locally from Cotswold stone, facing South-East and therefore enjoying the rising sun.
Accommodation
With 18 rooms (11 suites), this luxury hotel still manages to feel like a private home. The rooms are all individually decorated, each with their own character. The suites are designed for one purpose alone; luxury, comfort and indulgence; guests can enjoy complimentary chocolates & Champagne.
Activities
The garden at Barnsley House is nothing short of enchanting. If fairies were to exist this is where they would live; sunny terraces, ancient meadows, knot gardens and some wonderfully ornate formal gardens. May and June are the months when the garden is at its most beautful. Within the grounds there is a contemporary spa and garden which have been designed to compliment the historic surroundings whilst providing a serene sanctuary for relaxation. The spa garden designed by Stephen Woodhams features a sculpture made from old walling stone and a reflecting pond with waterfalls. The spa has 6 treatment rooms, steam room, sauna and hydrotherapy pool. The treatments feature REN Clean Skincare Products and the home blended Barnsley House label signature oils.
Dining
The restaurant is under the talented hands of Graham Grafton (Caprice, Bibendum and Chez Bruce). His aim is to produce simple, robust and totally fresh dishes with an Italian influence.
Rates
Rates at Barnsley House are per room per night and include, Continental breakfast, VAT, service charge and use of the Spa. Higher rates apply for weekend stays. A minimum 2 night stay is required ovre a Saturday night unless booked within 4 days of arrival and subject to availability. For the May and August Bank Holiday weekends a Saturday night stay must include a Friday night. Special packages apply for Christmas, New Year and Easter. Extra beds for children in rooms with adults are GBP 45 per child including breakfast. Late checkout is available at an additional GBP 75 subject to availability on the day. There is limited wheel chair access.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation or amendments made within 14 days of arrival date without prior notice will be charged 100% of the booking. However, if the room is resold at the full rate, no charge will be made.
