The Dutch House, also known as Doornberg, is an exclusive heritage house built in one of Sri Lanka's most well preserved historic mansions. This exclusive chic retreat rests high on a hill with views over Galle Fort and the Indian Ocean. Spacious living areas, an English tropical garden complete with croquet lawn and treetop infinity pool provides ample space for guests to find a quiet area in which to truly unwind.
Accommodation
The 4 luxury suites combine absolute grandeur with the utmost comfort. Filled with colonial antiques, the interiors evoke a pervasive mood of stillness and warmth which is at once romantic and relaxing. Each bedroom is fully air-conditioned with mosquito-net-draped 4 poster beds, luxurious silk drapes, cool polished concrete floors and stunning soft furnishings. The bedrooms lead into a private sitting room which contains comfortable sofas and writing desks with views over the magnificent Galle Fort, the croquet lawn or a private garden. Spacious bathrooms are fitted with fine showers and traditional claw-footed bath tubs which add to the colonial atmosphere.
Activities
The Dutch House and sister boutique hotel Sun House are an ideal springboard to visit the beaches, the temples, the wild life reserves, the lowland tea estates, the rain forests and the local and chaotic markets and villages of the Southern Province. The nearest beaches are 15 minutes away.
Dining
At the Dutch House breakfast is at anytime, anywhere. English breakfast is served with coffees and teas and snacks are served throughout the day in the garden or by the swimming pool. Dinner is served at the Sun House, which is the sister boutique hotel next door and renowned for some of the best food in Sri Lanka.
Rates
Rates at the Dutch House are per room per night and include breakfast. Prices do not include 10% service charge and 14% government tax. An extra bed will be charged at USD 50 per night. From 15 December to 20 January rates are USD 400 for Christmas holiday. Villas accommodate 10 persons and extras are only allowed with permission from the owner.

Cancellation policy
A 15% non-refundable deposit will be reuiqred to confirm booking no less than 30 days prior to arrival and the balance is to be paid no less than 28 days prior to arrival. Cancellations received within 10 days of arrival - 100% of stay will be charged.
