About this Chic Retreat
Bastide St Mathieu is a wonderfully restored 18th-century country farm house set in acres of expertly groomed gardens and wide expanses of parkland. The scents of the colourful blooms will excite the senses, and the location strikes a good balance - a peaceful country retreat in close proximity to the exciting towns of Cannes and Nice. Antiques, rich fabrics and charming French touches give a cosy and luxurious feel to the rooms of this welcoming luxury hideaway.
Accommodation
There are 7 large bedrooms in the Bastide St Mathieu, so at most there are 17 guests at any one time. All rooms have impressive marble en-suite bathrooms. The spacious rooms are elegant and luxurious, each room with its own colour scheme and named after famous figures from the Riviera. The Cole Porter Junior Suite is the most romantic, with reds & yellows against dark wooden furnishings, and a private terrace. The light-filled Sissi room has a beautiful four-poster bed with a cool white canopy by the window. The James Baldwin room has a double bedroom, perfect for four people sharing or families. All rooms have WIFI and satellite TV (except for the James Baldwin room and single rooms).
Activities
The Nordic Sanctuary offers tailor-made spa treatments for Bastide St Mathieu guests in the comfort of their own rooms - so just sit back and be pampered! There is a large outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by luscious greenery, with a shaded pergola. While away the summer evenings on the boule piste, or take a walk through the beautiful gardens & olive groves. With 10 courses close by, including Cannes Mougins Country Club and St Donat Country Club, golf enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice. The Tennis Club de Vignal is also nearby. There are many lovely villages & towns to explore, such as Valbonne, Grasse, Mougins and Cannes, and the Alpes Maritimes and Gorges du Verdon are great for bracing walks. For a bit of adventure, the nearest ski resort is only 40 minutes from Bastide St Mathieu, and for those who want to simply relax in the sun, there are many beautiful beaches in the area. For musical guests, there is a baby grand digital piano in the Grand Salon, which has a huge fireplace for cosy nights in.
Dining
Bastide St Mathieu serves up a large breakfast, and there is a stone dining room & coffee room, both with fireplaces, in which to dine. They do not serve lunch or dinner, but there is a professional standard kitchen where guests can prepare their own meals, and there are plenty of villages nearby to visit for an evening meal. A light summer menu is served in the warm months.
Rates
Rates at Bastide St Mathieu are per room per night, and include breakfast, except for special offer rates where breakfast is charged extra at EUR 18. Rates are subject to axes of 5.5%. Exclusive rental is available with rates oustide of the high season in Jan - Apr and Oct - Nov available on request for varying period depending on availability.

Cancellation policy
Less than 31 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total cost will be charged. Less than 5 days or no show, 100% of the total cost will be charged.
