Nestled in the heart of the winemaking region of Chianti Classico, Villa Mangiacane is a magnificent 15th-century villa built by the Machiavelli family, bearing the unmistakable hand of the Renaissance master, Michelangelo. Located just 12km south of Florence, Mangiacane is set within 600 acres of flourishing vineyards and olive groves. The private estate produces 3 award winning wines and a distinctive olive oil which you can taste and enjoy during your stay. The classic beauty of Mangiacane combined with its history, art, and idyllic countryside setting create the perfect backdrop for a Tuscan wedding, unforgettable holiday or exclusive rental.

Luxurious facilities complement the private villa with unique sculpture gardens and breathtaking Tuscan views of the Duomo in Florence. A stay at Mangiacane allows for easy exploration to Florence, San Gimignano, or the magnificent city of Siena. The villa is fully staffed with grand salons and dining areas, traditional wine cellars, frescoed terraces, pool area, a fitness center and a room for treatment. The rooms are all fully air-conditioned and there is WIFI throughout the villa. Complimentary shuttle service to and from Florence is provided on a daily basis.

Accommodation

Villa Mangiacane has a total of 28 guest rooms, made up of 15 double rooms and 13 suites. Guests have a wide range of room types and categories from which to choose: classic rooms, superior rooms, deluxe, junior suites with private gardens and plunge pools, terrace suites with terraces overlooking Florence and of course last but not least the magnificent Mangiacane Royal Suite. Junior Suite and Terrace Suite offer either breathtaking panoramic views over the city of Florence or the surrounding vineyards, olive groves and forests.

All guest rooms feature generously-sized marble bathrooms with in-room heating, TVs with satellite channels, minibar, Internet access and IDSL lines and individual room safes. The rooms are all fully air-conditioned and there is high-speed internet connection around the villa.

Activities

Villa Mangiacane has 2 open-air swimming pools (one infinity), one of which is located next to the Main Villa in the famous sculpture garden. Lazing at the pool guests have views over the beautiful Hamlet of San Andrea and the city of Florence on the horizon. Mangiacane Extra Virgin Olive Oil has always played a large part in the villa's history. Today their modern oil extraction plant produces this superior quality extra-virgin olive oil which has excellent organoleptic health qualities. Wine tasting, hot air ballooning, cooking lessons, art lessons, olive oil tasting are just some of the activities available and of course with Florence only 15 minutes away and shopping outlets within easy distance guests will find themselves spoilt for choice.

Dining

All meals at Villa Mangiacane are prepared by the Villa's private executive chef. Lunches are served al fresco- generally featuring salads and light Tuscan specialties and can be enjoyed in the herbal garden or around the pool in the summer. Dinners are served in the restaurant located in the Mazzei Villa.

Rates

The rates at Villa Mangiacane are per night and include breakfast, 10% VAT and daily shuttle from Villa Mangiacane to Florence and back
