Ardmor House - Edinburgh, Scotland

About this Chic Retreat

Ardmor House is a charmingly restored Victorian house in the centre of Edinburgh. Gay owned & straight friendly, this small gem is personally run by the owner Robin Jack and the housekeeper Tracey, who will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible, and guests may well receive an affectionate greeting from Lola, Robin's affable miniature schnauzer dog. Elegance and contemporary luxury combine in these spacious rooms and the location is perfect, on a quiet street opposite Pilrig Park, just 15 minutes from the main shopping area, Princes Street.

Accommodation

All 5 rooms in Ardmor House are charming & spacious. The large beds are covered in fresh white linen and soft bed spreads and furniture is a blend of contemporary luxury and traditional classics. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with extremely powerful showers and fresh towels are brought to the room every day. All rooms have flat-screen televisions with digital channels, ipod doc/alarm clock/digital radios, hairdryers and individual temperature controls for the central heating, so on those cold Scottish nights guests can keep themselves nice and toasty.

Activities

Ardmor House is right in the centre of Edinburgh, close to the main shopping area and minutes from the best of the cities pubs, bars, clubs and cafes. Robin has created his own city guide and gay guide and will be happy to point guests in the right direction for whatever they need. Guests can purchase temporary membership to Virgin Active Health Club, a short 10-minute walk from the hotel with a swimming pool, spa and exercise equipment, and guests can relax & recuperate in the health & beauty salon with a massage or pedicure. For in-house beauty treatments, book an appointment with their Dr. Haushka beautician.

Edinburgh's world-famous festival is on in August and is a great time to come to the city which is alive with comedy, theatre and art.

Dining

The Ardmor House breakfast buffet is served in the spacious dining room. A spread of cereals, yoghurts, fruits, cheese, fruit juices and of course oatcakes will help kickstart the day and there are a selection of cooked breakfasts including a full Scottish breakfast and porridge and always aiming to please, they will even cook up some veggie sausages if asked. For guests who want to stay in bed a little longer, there is a continental room service breakfast.
