The privately owned country house hotel is set in 4 acres and offers facilities such as croquet lawn, heated indoor pool, all-weather tennis court, spa facilities and an award-winning restaurant. The hotel adjoins a 9000 acre deer park offering excellent walking and an abundance of wildlife and flowers throughout the year.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Summer Lodge, Dorset is exceptional with 20 bedrooms, 2 one bedroom suites and 2 two bedroom suites. Each room at this English Country House Hotel is individually decorated and comes complete with the latest in state-of-the-art technology including large plasma screen TV and DVD, air-conditioning, Satellite TV and WIFI.

Rooms and suites are not only available in the main house of this small luxury hotel but also in the Coach House. These rooms feature their own onservatory or balcony overlooking the pool and spa area, as well as in one of Summer Lodge's 3 cottages including the romantic Ivy Cottage which is perfect for honeymooners. Room One, their Master Bedroom was originally designed by Thomas Hardy himself and offers a magnificent open fireplace and overlooks the perfectly manicured English country gardens that frame the house beautifully.

Activities

There is a large, indoor and heated swimming pool, take tea and croquet on the lawn or perhaps a game of tennis. For something more adventurous the friendly staff will happily organise a range of country pursuits.

Dining

Overlooking beautifully manicured lawns and pergola, the stunning award-winning restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. If the weather is fine, tables are available on the terrace. The cellar is stocked with a superb choice of fine wines and Eric Zwiebel, Champagne Ruinart UK Sommelier of the Year 2004, and his team are on hand to provide recommendations and suggestions. Summer Lodge has recently been awarded 'Best of Award of Excellence' for 2006, by the American magazine 'Wine Spectator', stating that this luxury boutique hotel has one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world. A traditional Dorset afternoon tea is served every afternoon in the Drawing Room and lighter meals can be enjoyed in the cosy bar.

All rates are per person sharing per night and include full English breakfast, early morning tea, newspaper of choice and VAT at the current rate of 17.5%
