About this Chic Retreat

Captains Club Hotel and Spa is a nautical boutique hotel overlooking the River Stour in Christchurch, Dorset. The sleek modern building somewhat resembles a ship with wooden porthole windows by the entrance and a towering mast above the glass-fronted façade. All rooms face the river, so there won't be a fight over the view and there is a large terrace outside from which to watch the boats pass by. With its own award-winning gourmet restaurant, Tides, and a fantastic spa, guests will leave this Dorset gem feeling relaxed & well fed.

Accommodation

There are 17 double / twin rooms and 12 suites in Captains Club Hotel. All rooms are spacious and have wonderful river views. The luxurious, contemporary rooms take some inspiration from the maritime environment and light streams in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The exclusively designed en-suite bathrooms have sumptuous Aromatherapy Associates toiletries and thick bathrobes & towels. Luxury suites, family suites and serviced apartments have fully-equipped Johnson & Johnson kitchens and spacious dining areas. All rooms have LCD TVs with Sky & DVD players and WiFi & dial-up internet access.

Activities

Captains Club Hotel and Spa has its own 34-foot Targa motor cruiser named Nauti-Girl and guests can take a cruise across the Bay of Christchurch to Brownsea Island or Keyhaven or along the river accompanied by the hotel's knowledgable skipper. There are also 6 private moorings should guests wish to bring their own boat.

The Captains Club Hotel spa has a hydrotherapy pool, expert masseuses to ease away those aches & pains and a wonderful range of manicures and facials so guests will leave feeling pampered and refreshed. Guests can relax after a body treatment out on the private terrace.

The New Forest is close by as is Bournemouth, and Christchurch itself is a lovely place to explore with its magnificent priory which dates back to 1094 and Christchurch Harbour, a protected wildlife refuge, home to swans & waders.

Dining

The Tides Restaurant is the crowning glory of Captains Club Hotel with a simple fresh menu in keeping with this contemporary bolthole and a décor to match. This award-winning restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients to create simple dishes with a creative slant, with dishes such as local asparagus spears, deep fried poached egg, parmesan and truffle mayonnaise, and of course a great range of fish and shellfish dishes including Dorset crab. Tides is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and for an evening tipple, the bar serves some great cocktails accompanied in the live lounge by some fine acoustic singers.

Rates

Rates at Captains Club Hotel and Spa are per room per night and include all taxes, parking and use of the spa (for over 16s). For Apartments and Suites, breakfast is charged at GBP 15 per person. Children are charged at GBP 20 per bed per night and cots are available at GBP 10 per cot per night. During the summer a minimum stay of 2 nights is required if stay includes a Saturday. Dogs are welcome if arranged beforehand at GBP 20 each per night.
