About this Chic Retreat

Westcroft Guest House is a luxury B and B and a haven of peace in the former fishing village of Kingsand, Cornwall. Nestled on the Rame Peninsula, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the beach and surrounding landscape will take your breath away. Simple pleasures, long walks in the sea breeze, a quiet pint in the local pubs and a bite to eat in the local café, are the order of the day.

The stylish rooms seamlessly blend original features of the restored Georgian coaching inn and traditional furnishings with contemporary décor and fixtures and the whole guesthouse has real character. There is a fabulous art gallery featuring local Cornish art in the adjoining stables and plenty of space for lounging. The friendly owners, Sarah and Dylan Mclees Taylor and their loyal English Pointer always give a warm welcome and they are happy to point guests in the right direction. This luxury bolthole is a truly romantic find, while at certain times of year, the entire property can be rented.

Accommodation

There are 3 rooms in the Westcroft Guest House (4 if taking it over exclusively). The Clock Tower Suite allows guests to rent the entire top floor. This romantic gem has a large French antique double bed covered in delicate linen and a day bed for a relaxing snooze or for use as a child's bed. The spacious en-suite has a gorgeous roll-top bath and the Cornish slate floor is heated. It is easy to get lost in thought while soaking in the tub with the skylights looking out to the sky above. This suite has a flat screen TV, iPod docking system and WiFi access.

The four-poster double bedroom can be rented on its own or as part of the entire first floor which has a large lounge with books, music, DVDs and a flat screen TV with digital channels. Looking out to the sea, this is a relaxing environment to kick back in. The bedroom sports traditional Toile de Jouy and the white and dark wood furniture blend together well. The walk in shower room also has under-floor heating.

The Penlee Room on the second floor can be used as a twin or six-foot double and the en-suite bathroom has a claw-foot roll-top bath. All bedrooms have sumptuous linens and goose feather duvets & pillows. With the Westcroft Gallery next door, full of gorgeous seascapes and Cornish art, guests are encouraged to choose their own artwork to hang on the walls for the duration of their stay.

Activities

The Westcroft Guest House has its own art gallery in what was previously the stables adjoining the inn and has a fine collection of Cornish art. Art classes can also be arranged with some of St. Ives' most talented artists. Walks along the South West Coastal Path are a must and the winding streets of Kingsand have 5 village pubs for a thirst-quenching drink after wandering the beach situated just 20 metres from the guesthouse door. This luxury B&B is all about relaxation and the natural beauty of the surroundings are perfect for unwinding. For a quiet evening in, relax in the lounge with a film or book, or snuggle up on the sofa in the cosy kitchen/diner. To top it all off, take an in-room massage or reflexology session and slowly drift off to sleep to the sound of the sea…

Dining

Because the Westcroft Guest House is designed for a real rest away from the hectic pace of life, breakfast is served at flexible times either in the room or at the colourful compass-design breakfast table. All food is locally sourced and organic whenever possible. For a romantic evening meal, a candle-lit dinner can be arranged with notice, a cosy informal meal can be enjoyed in the kitchen/diner with its pretty muralled breakfast table or for groups renting together, the formal dining room has a large round table that seats up to ten guests.

Rates

Rates at Westcroft Guest House are per room per night and include breakfast and all taxes. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights on weekends. Children are also welcome at the Westcroft and baby sitting can be arranged at GBP 9 per hour. Dogs can stay at the guesthouse for an additional GBP 5 per night.
